Was this bike sitting around a lot before you bought it?
Ya it sat in Sacramento for 3 years. lol Carb was all gummed up. I cleaned the crap out of it and still nothing. Took it to the stealership had it rejetted for phoenix and just today played with it enough I finally got it running like a champ. Took some tinkering with the fuel mixture screw and lots of test riding but now its as it should be.

But those are Canadian hours so after the conversion I assume it is not too bad? It took me a bit less than 3 hours but worked slow to get all the wiring done right and soldered the headlight conections. I used the stock headlight but connected it high and low beam. Works great with Tusk switch.

It won't take very long before you wear out the dirt tires. I'll give you about 300km of asphalt and it will ruin both front and rear tires. You might as well switch right now.

Sure, it could last for 1,000 or 1,500 or maybe 2,000 miles before it's bald and smooth, but assuming you want more out of your tires once off-road than having mere rounded bumps for knobs, once you get more than a couple hundred miles of pavement on a knobby, off-road performance and feel goes out the window.
It depends on how critical you are.
