sSo I am upgrading from 3 to 4. The 3 that just came out has some sort of silver sealer around the edges where it meets the flange. it looks almost like antiseize, but i'm not sure. So what sort if any silicone did you use?

I'm betting a high temp RTV "red stuff" would work fine, but I'm not 100% sure...

Sealer for what ? Should be a gasket between v4 and case , and your rubber boot that goes to carb. does not need a sealer.

^^^ exactly. Sealer will make a mess when its time to change them out. Just get the oem gasket and call it a day.

I recommend the oem gasket as well. But if you have to/need to seal it with something, we use a product called "1211" at the shop I work at. I've had really good results with it. Its a bit pricey, about $12 a tube. But I think its worth it. Should be able to get it at a bike shop, or a good auto parts store.
