i like it!

took the cover off my parts bike and it looked pretty bad. you could tell it sat outside a long time with no cover on it.
i am 5 ten and my bike fits me pretty good but i have a hard time getting my leg over it with luggage on. so i dicided to trim a little off. i needed to anyways to smooth out the missing foam.

so i measured a half inch down each side and cut them flat with a hack saw blade. it ended up taking an inch off the middle since the stock seat is not flat.

i then used this foam to give my rear a little width so my butt dont go numb!

tapered it to look good and fit inbetween my rack mounts.
i smoothed it up more than this and filled in all the holes but forgot to take a pic

then i glued on a whole sheet of foam to smooth out any mistakes. i put the top on first then stretched the sides on after. it is soft but thin so my dense foam still gives great support.

it looks dang good if you ask me. almost like a sargent. i just need to get a piece of marine grade vinnyl and she is done. it should smooth out the square looking edges to! i set it on the bike and it feels AWESOME!!!!!!
i used a hack saw blape. electric knife. contact cement. and a sharpie

Looks nice! My little brother did this with his KLR 650 and posted a video of it on YouTube. I'd like to see how your seat turned out. I am thinking of doing the same to my bike. I assume you just staple the vinyl to the plastic seat pan?

yea i get the -40 marine grade vinnyl and it is very stretchy, especially when its warm. i have done 4 wheeler seats before and they come out great just stretching and stapling a flat piece of vinnyl. but i am wondering if my dr seat will work with its extreme upward bend towards the tank.
