hmm..  husaberg just was victorious in the E2 and EJ class at the first round of the enduro world championship in chile.  apparantly it works well for some riders.

tm_enduro, That was my point. Some people don't like it and say its a waste. I actually like it and the idea behind. Ridden a 570 a few times and love it on more open terrain etc but in tight single track the 390 would be better. My comment about the husaberg two strokes everyone is raving about is old KTM stuff with a few different options that I already stated. It is literally a KTM XCW with CC forks and a different look. Whats really odd is when someone rides a KTM 2012 frame they talk about how much better it is then the previous frame(current Husaberg two stroke frame) but the berg still gets rave reviews. Just odd thats all. That said I still love the two stroke Husabergs and Im glad KTM has decided to add them to the husaberg line up. In my opinion the husabergs and gas gas models are the best looking bikes on the market today. Even better then the KTM by a mile. I don't like the look of KTMs after 2007 exc's.

Exactly and the KTM is a damn good bike. What the Berg guys like myself complain about is taking away the option of having options. The Berg in many ways is a KTM but you won't find a single KTM with a slanted 70 degree motor. I know it looks odd, but the motor is a dream..... I bought my Berg specificly because of the slanted motor and all the praise it got from anyone who tested it. Otherwise I would have bought another Husqvarna or a KTM.

I don't think your 70 degree engine is going anywhere. The idea has already had a few followers such as the OSSA 300i enduro and the YZ450F which is a monster and if you ever get to ride one take the chance. If ktm throws in the towel now thats to much money lost. I may eat these words though. won't be the first time.

I don't take anything I read on a forum as true statement. Still fun to talk about it.

In my neck of the woods, the Hbg 70-degree is a hit, it just gobbles up slick rocky terrain like no other bike.  I hope it doesn't vaporize.

I asked my dealer about that and he just laughed. I guess Husaberg has some even more cool stiff coming and the internet rumors are just that...rumors.

I have heard that KTM is uses Husaberg to spend more time in R & D on already developed and old(relatively) KTM technology.

I just bought a 2012 TE 300 & I love it. It does sport the 2011 frame of the xc-w 300, but I think I am getting a sexier enhanced version of the 2011 KTM.

Even though it has the 2011 frame, it does retain the non linkage rear shock(which I am finding many prefer), the close cartridge forks and the motor is pretty trick.

I have NEVER ridden a bike that has the amount of traction and torque right off idle. I havent put my rekluse in yet, but I have never stalled it.  I think they did an excellent job porting the cylinder so that it could tractor up hills in 3rd gear while barely applying the throttle. And when you get on the gas it rips like a mx bike.

Hopefully KTM is smart and continue to do this with Husaberg. Like a few have said, I wanted a good woods bike but didnt want to have an orange bike like everyone else.

The Berg is the prettiest off road bike made IMO.

I was unaware of any porting changes inside the engine. I know a 300 KTM will lug the same way too and so will a gas gas.

The berg is the sexiest bike out there I think. Gas Gas is a close second and Beta in third.

Yes I saw a review on youtube where they compared an xc 300 to a te 300 and the reviewer mentioned that the engines were the same but the berg had more bottom end power and mentioned that it was most likely through porting.

But winning races does not mean that the bike is best/good.

And does not mean that WE can buy the bikes they are riding. The factory boys have a lot of tricks up their sleeves.  Its how they develop the next generation bikes.

My point about saying the 70 degree engine isn't best or worse is just what everyone is saying. It comes down to opinion. Just like Suspension setup or bar height or seat height or pivot pegs vs solid pegs. A lot of people like the 70degree engine. Its a different design. Is it better? Depends on who you ask.

Interesting. Youtube is like google. Not everything there is true. Did KTM change the porting? I don't know and does it really matter? Its still a KTM with husaberg look. Killer combination no matter how you look at it.

I didn't see a video comparing the two head to head but I only did a simple search and gave up after the 1st page of results.

That's what I'm talking about! I like Indian people as a whole but they have some messed up priorities and it's very hard for me to believe that they will get the building of high quality, high tech birt bikes right! No one believes me but I think KTM and Husaberg are doomed. Oh well... It was good while it lasted! At least there is Beta, GasGas, and TM left. The new OSSA looks good too!

Whatever the reason, info should be available. Things have to be set in stone by now.
