^ keep the stock seat cover or else the tank will look SUPER out of place. kinda looks good with the blue in there too

brian that line reall looks good on that bike and were you runnin a sunline shifter before the outlaw? how do you like it i put one on my 250 kinda seems like its gonna wear out fast.

Yea Ive always used the Sunline shift levers, they hold up great. The one I have on my 08 has lasted me 2 seasons and is still in great condition, the one on my 125 has lasted 4 and is still in good condition but will need replaced soon just because its starting to look like junk from fading... Im gonna be using these Outlaw levers from now one though... these things are amazing quality and untouchable price, not to mention they look trick. $17 for the lever I just got.

Not much progress since I still dont have anymore parts but I threw the shift lever on the bike, this Outlaw lever looks great and seems to be built very well. We will see how it holds up once I get it out on the track and beat on it.

Think I have my V force sold from when I had my 05 125 but sold the bike and forgot I ordered the reed valve, so now I can afford to buy new pegs.

here is a pic of the pegs off my 03 or 08 (dont rem which), on my 96... much much better. The brand new pegs will be even better though.

11' Kx450 pegs and chain showed up today so I got those thrown on... grabbed a pro taper chain based on AJ's recommendation and it seems like its a super heavy duty chain. I think it should hold up great. Hopefully the rest of my parts show up tomorrow. These KX pegs are way beefier then the Yamaha pegs even on the new bikes. Just had to grind about 1/4" off of the stop and they fit absolutely perfectly! Cant wait to use them!

IDK what is going on with my PC on the frame but Im not happy about it. It looks like it had bubbles in it and now its just all starting to fall off. Next time I tear it down it will get PC'ed again. Cant really complain though since the PC was free.

Went ahead and pulled the triples, decided to just hit them with some auto paint rarher than get them PC'ed since mine isnt holding up for crap on the frame. Just got back from the shop from spraying them with some auto black actually. They look really good, and Im just gonna get some of the spray on bed liner, the thin stuff and hit the rub areas on the frame, like you would install grip tape. Should look really good!

Ill post more pics of those when I go back to the shop to grab them in a few hours.

Im starting to get excited about this thing. Its almost ridable! :bonk:

and... black triples! Its just black auto body paint so we will see how it holds up. The triples dont take too much abuse so thats why I decided to try painting first. They turned out pretty darn good!

Would you powdercoat you frame again,? maybe it just me but it isnt holding up to well, reason im asking is I am about to paint or powder coat mine.

Yes but I would have it done by a professional (shop) this time, Im not gonna waste my time with paint as it wont hold up. I had a buddy do mine and it just doesnt seem right it almost seems as if there were bubbles under the PC or something and when touched it cracked and eventually flaked off. Now Im worrying about my hubs as well since he did those too.

It looks like you didn't blast it. The proper prep work will make all the difference. Did you bake it on?

I didnt do it... A buddy did it, so IDK what prep work was done. I soda blasted it to clean the gunk off of it before I decided to get it PC'ed but I didnt strip the paint, and yes the PC was baked on

Got the JD kit installed today he recommended the same settings I was running so the swap was easy. Red needle 3rd clip pos, 175 main, 42 pilot, A/S 1 3/4 turns out. Oh and did I mention that it no longer spooges while idling. Throttle is soo much snappier than with the stock needle.

The real test will come later in the week when I get it to the track and give it hell to see if it really helped. I suspect that it will be pretty close to spot on though. Makes me feel much better about running the cast piston.

Now I need to get my hands on a shorty silencer, they are very hard to find used for these older bikes. Trying to find a used one so I can save some money since I still have to get some parts to do the cylinder swap.

I got the 96 100% done for my riding trip this up coming week. Had to steal the forks off the 450 since the 250 forks had to be sent back out, the clutch side fork was locked up when I got it back.
