Has anyone done this? I'm in NV and it is possible to do. I just wonder what kits, stators were used and overall around town rideability is?

Did a CR500 a while back.
Awesome ride for side streets and back roads.
Not a fan of straight highway cruising though.
Gear it up (I run 14/39) and make sure jetting is up to the task (richer pilot).
Not sure what stators are available (Ricky Stator...... ask for Mike) and LED lighting draws minimal amperage.
Couldn't find squat for stators for the 500, so I modded an XL600 headlight to accept an 1157 automotive blinker bulb.
Not capable of night riding, but "legally" gives low/high beams.
Not sure about your area, but I converted the bike, had it state inspected then went to the DMV to have it reclassed for the street.
Just expect to pay up for "specialty" insurance for a road-going MX bike.
Would I do it again?
Heck yeah.
What a blast.................
modded an old CR480 also
