So I took my TE511 out for a ride and it did the flame out stalling and did not have what I would call strong pulling power. After reading a lot of post on different sites it looked like putting in the jumper was the trick. So I installed it and it did stop the stalling issue and ran much better. Along with reading from other post I came across a few that said that if you install the jumper it will cause problems with your stock muffer. So I'm hoping to clear up some of these facts.

1. Installing the jumper will not harm the exsisting muffer (plug it up)
2. Installing just a FMF without a JD tuner will cause the stalling to come back due to leaness

I'm pretty happy with the power now but concerned about the stock exhaust, installing the tuner is not really a problem for me but I really not thrilled of having that box hanging off of my bike on on the bars (hiding it is prefered by me), where is everyone putting the tuner box?

I am no racer guy and just an old guy who likes to enjoy the wider type fire roads.

Great information on this site and thanks to all who help guy's like me out.

I've just ordered a JD for my 250, you only have the unit on the bars whilst you are setting it up, once you have it all right you store it away under the seat as the leads are long on purpose to allow this. Mine will go quite neatly above the battery on a bit of strong velcro.

I think they will be nearly the same price no matter where you get it.

I ordered and recieved the FMF power core muffler today and also ordered the JD tuner which should be here tomorrow, another question I have is can someone give me their setup numbers to save me from re-inventing the wheel. I also have the factory jumper installed.

The tuner comes with some preset for the bike which should help right away, then just tune it to your ride style. There are a lot of specific settings posted on the other (husky) site.

You got it right, the FMF muffler along with the JD Tuner will give you a nice increase in power throughout the whole range.
It's definitely the winning combo. :bonk:
