I have a 05 yamaha yfz 450, that i just got. It seems to me that the motor is making more noise than it should, (kind of a clackity clack kinda thing). You cant hear it over the loud exhaust, but if you get down near it you can hear it. It seems to run fine and has plenty of power. I have read about 4 strokes needing the valves adjusted every so often and wonder if this is something I should do, not knowing the history of the quad.

So my question is, is adjusting the valves on this quad a very difficult operation?

Any tips or tricks that would help me along?

I have adjusted vavles on a old V-8 and do pretty good wrenching on stuff, but have never been inside anything like this.

Thanks.

Nevermind, I found a pretty good write up on the subject.
