Sounds fine to me.... did you use Web's recommended valve lash settings instead of the stock Suzuki settings? My bike has the HC piston and Web 223 cam set at Web's suggested lash. Yes, it makes more top end noise than my wife's stock DR650. I think the 780 kit will also add some noise to the party... hey, it's an air cooled engine... it's going to make noise. OK, enough of that... Ride report! :bonk:

Im riding in 20s-40s all the time..those things keep the air off my hands..
so this thing pulls like a truck.First thing I need to do is change the gearing, 1st gear is useless and also the big flat corbin is a problem now since I just slide back and cant really hold on to the bike.. Overall I love it.. :bonk:

I have the webcam 223 on my bike and it makes a small amount of valve noise compared to the stock cam that makes no discernable noise. I got used to it. I checked my valve lash more often to see it if is wearing and it stays the same so no problems. I am using stock Suzuki settings as well. In fact I keep my valves at the tight end of things to increase the duration and lift as much as possible. Please don't warn me about possible problems like valves hitting the piston. I don't care! It runs longer at the top end than my stock cam and has a mild increase in mid-range power/torque. I also have a stock bore HC piston in it. Fuel mileage is the same as before around 50 cruising and 40+ when I ride hard.

Crank em down to .001 and .002 .... maybe you can get 60 HP out of it!

Actually the recommended valve lash by Web for the 223 cam is .004" intake and .005 exhaust so if you are on the "tight side" of Suzuki's range then you are .001" tight on the intake... no biggie... but you are still too loose on the exhaust. See, you're not quite the maverick you thought you were. :bonk:
