What is the best and cheapest way to remove the stock air filter system?
When I bought the bike, the previous owner removed everything in the air box, cut 4 - 1inch holes in the air box, and put tiny filters in them.
Now the motor oil comes out black, so I know that dust/dirt is getting in.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Does this option put the filter in the way of front tire splash?

I have the same set up, and I haven't had any problems. The filter is tucked up pretty well, and for me has stayed very clean.

The front fender does shield the filter somewhat .. But if your gonna be bomb'n thru deep puddles .., I wouldn't run it .. You can get an Outerware pre filter to slow down the water from gett'n into the filter . But it won't stop all the water from getting thru ..

I ran mine without any issues for over a year. You will need to make some adjustments to the carb generally, but shouldn't be too tough.

Thanks to all.
I just purchased a used BBR Uflow for it and will be putting it on ASAP.
I really like the way it shields the filter somewhat and it shoud work well.
