You could probably fight it on to the rim, but a 120 will really crown in the center. 110 the widest I have seen anyone go on that rim.

I run a 120 Maxxis and it works fine, always have and always will run that size. I like it alot bc it hooks up so good in this GA rocly rooty clay!

There are two different metric rating systems. I know the Dunlop 952 120/18 is a BIG tire. I definitely wouldn't use it on a 250X. I have no idea about Maxxis since I won't use them or sell them to my customers. There are too many decent tires at good prices that actually work to have to resort to using them.

I run a 110 Maxxis Desert IT and love it but I can feel the weight a bit. I wouldn't recommend a 120, if you have an aftermarket pipe like the FMF Q4 like I have, it will rub.

I've been told the 120 isn't a good size either for this bike too. But I've had no problems w/ it and I actually love these tires. I've been surprised a few times about how well it hooks up when I've gotten stuck on a hill when it was wet, rocky and rooty. Best tire I've used so far and its holding up to all the abuse and paved roads I have to hit from trail to trail. I do wanna try the Bridgestone 403/404 combo because alot of people swear by them and I've heard nothing but good reviews. RMZ's come stock w/ these and they got good reviews for the tires too!!

I personally will only run a Maxxis. I have run all sorts of tires and they have given me the best performance along with the longest wear characteristics. They used to be realitivly inexpensive but with the tire prices going up they are losing that advantage. I run a 110/100 18 on my X. just my .02.
