I am looking for the Motion Pro throttle cable with secured ends.

My bike is a 2012 ktm 250 sx.

The reason I ask is because I had a accident and after talking to a few guys that was there said my throttle was stuck.
Also my subframe is bent to heck and my bars are bent. I my have to buy a new one if my wife lets me ride again LOL.
All I can do now is just set and watch my daughter ride but at lest I can say that.

Found this wonder if it will fit http://www.motionpro...mpaign=webgains

Thanks for any info back Ron.

Heres my accident report.

On December 18th I was at the track and on the first lap out just before the finish line jump I had a pretty bad accident. About an hour later I was at the ER via the local taxi called the Ambulance. After a few X-Rays a Cat Scan and an MRI they tell me I have a few broken ribs and my left shoulder is broken in four places. Many painful hours later I finally make it to surgery where it takes them 8 hours to replace part of my shoulder. Thankfully I was able to make it home by Christmas. Now I am making progress even if it is slow going. I went back to the surgeon last Tuesday to have the staples out and for a routine check up. Everything looks good so far. I'm scheduled to go back to him on the 18th for another follow-up and to hopefully he will think it is time to start Therapy. I know it is a long and painful process, so I hear. Anyone here been through this before? Any thoughts and what I should look out for or things that may make this process easier or quicker?

Very painful "before" picture

Still painful, but not as much "after" picture

Ouch, not sure what cable you mean, I replaced my throttle cable with a longer one just so I could route it differently. The cable for a Honda cr250 (forget what year maybe 2000), is several inches longer and allows routing behind number plate and down left side of frame. However, I still saftey wire the cable to keep it from behind pulled to full throttle. Maybe some one who has done this recently will chime in and I know there some pictures out there if you search.

The Motion Pro T3 cable is #10-3000.
The Honda cable is for CR250 from 1990-2003 The Tucker Rocky # is 06-2247. I get the cable for the CR250. I have one on my sons 85sx, 105sx and my 06'250sx, 11'150sx. I also had one on my 01' 250sx. I just wire it to the throttle. I don't tie it to the carb because I change my jetting all the time and I have never had the cable get pulled out of the carb, just the throttle.

Can someone post up a pic of how you safety wire it?

Refer to the pictures in this thread. I did the same thing to my bike and I can't make mine budge with any sort of test tugging on the cable.

Sitting here right now still recovering from last Saturday when this very thing happened to me. Riding on a fairly tight tree course when hit a left hand corner and unexpectedly throttle stuck wide open and went for a hella ride (right over backwards) and on my arse. Nothing broken but huge bruise on left side from butt down back of leg. Bike hit so hard it snapped the left side of subframe off. Not taking any chances and ordering me one of the motion pro cables. Thanks for the info.

Wow glad you did not end up like me get well soon.

I will order the cable for the bike. What side of the bike do I run the cable on. Maybe follow the old cable path and just out the top of the number plate?

Thanks Ron.

Check out this link for info about CR cables and lengths.
http://www.thumperta...throttle-cable/

I ordered a 97-99 CR cable and installed it last Saturday. I had previously installed the a Scotts damper with SUB mount and had issues with the cable hooking around the left side when turning the bars. My homemade zip-tie cable guide was not satisfactory, so I searched online to find a solution. I decided going behind the number plate would look cleaner than adding a machined cable guide to the damper. Ran the cable behind the black box on the left side of the frame. Since the box is bolted down, it will make it more difficult for the cable to be pulled out of the top of the carb. Moving the bars to full lock resulted in minimal movement of the cable on top. The cable is low and unlikely to be pulled. Started the bike and had no issues with the cable being pulled. Took a test ride on Sunday and am happy with the setup. I may post a picture after I setup an account for pictures.

Yep, to me, this is the simplest solution. I like to route the Honda 4" longer cable behind the CDI, in front of the bars. From what I have read, the MP cable is too thick to install behind the CDI.

Still a good idea by MP providing this cable.

I seriously doubt that your WFO accident was caused by the OEM cable. Unless the cable snags on something, it's poorly routed, or the cable is installed improperly, it will not just go WFO for no reason.

The Motion Pro cable is a good way to prevent a WFO incident from happening, but it can't prevent it from happening if you install it wrong.

My experience with stock throttle cable on a 2012 300xc.
I have the high mount bars for my stabilizer. I decided to move my bars forward by turning the mounts around. It gave me about a half inch. I had never had a problem with my throttle cable being yanked or getting whiskey throttle. And I did have have my throttle cable safteywired at the carb. When I turned my mounts around I kept the stock routing (left side of tank). Riding a single track with a slight incline and whoops, my throttle just stuck at it's present position. I tried to back it off but the front end came up on me and dumped me right off the back. (I know all about the sore and bruised backside) I got back on after looking things over and could see no way that it happened. It stuck on me again a few minutes later only I was going really slow and I caught it in time to hit the kill switch. I stopped and my buddy and I decided to readjust the throttle housing down a bit to give more slack. It worked fine the rest of the day. Got home and rerouted the cable to the right side, it seemed to work great.
A couple of weeks later I purchased the T3 cable from Motion Pro. It fit just fine behind the plate and down the left side.
For all of you that have never had the problem, be very cautious.
Definetly not worth getting hurt over. Get the longer cable, weather MP or Honda.

I'll 100% guarantee the stock cable will get stuck WFO with it routed in the stock location. Mine has done it several times to me and my tank hasn't even been off my bike. So as it was installed by the factory (or dealer) and it happens. I just ordered the MP cable (+4" according to RMATV). Cost was ~$27 + shipping.

Here's another good link and pic (even though it's upside down). The longer cable is a must, whether you get the fancy T3 Slidelight or just a regular (but longer) Honda cable.
