This bike was stored about 6 months ago, gas was drained and it sat...I went to start and it wouldnt crank over, figured it was the battery so charged it, no luck. Tried a different battery, no luck...Started testing connections, im not so great at it, and bought a new solenoid, replaced the old one. Still wouldnt start so thought it could be the starter...I touched the 2 connections on the solenoid with a screwdriver and it started to crank over...Starters good...Do you guys think this is an electrical issue somewhere in the bike, or is my on off start electric crank switch corroded to the point it will not work anymore? Or maybe another suggestion. Thanks

No, but that shouldnt affect the turning over of the motor to start...its like the starter button itself is not even connected to the harness

I'd try taking the switch apart and cleaning it, ours was really crapped up and cleaning it made a world of difference. If that doesn't work, try shorting the switch connector with a paper clip, if nothing happens, start tracing your way back to the solenoid using the same method. Disconnect, clean, reconnect, attempt, if fails, try shorting. Still fails continue on, if it starts turning over, your problem is on the now disconnected side.
Good luck.
Good luck.
