checking out some arena cross lately. Im really curious especially after the crash with canard/morais, how landing on each other doesnt happen more often.

As soon as the heat is over in arena cross riders are rolling the catapult and some are doubling. for the most part its a blind jump so is there a protocol to this? hold your line is the only thing i can think of.

YEa...we just went to the Arena Cross race at the Sears Center a week or so ago.
Amazing how hi they jump....righ over each other. The finish line jump they went higher than they did far.
Nobody landed on each other. But there was one "gohst rider" (MX bike with out a rider) that went from one lane to the other. Straight head one collision the guy had with the riderlesss bike. Sparks actually flew from the collision inpact. Again, amazing the guy wasn't hurt more.
Just to tight of confines.

But I sure would have loved to run the track if nobody else (or just one or two) were on it.
My kid even said durring the vet class "hey dad, that's 45 and over, you wouldn't be in last place if raced here tonight." (there was one BIG guy that rolled it all...and stalled it twice) :bonk:

Yes, the cool down lap at checker flag was scarry as some rolled the finish (the 1st 2nd place guys) when some farther in the pack were still raceing to the flag.

My son did arenacross for most of his racing career during the outdoor off season. In my opinion if you are a beginner you shouldnt be allowed to jump doubles bigger than 40ft if you are a junior no big triples or you are disqualified or have to move up to the next class. If you are an intermediate or pro you should know what you are doing and landing on someone should never happen but is a risk. I have seen more bad crashes in arenacross (people getting landed on) in the beginner and junior class than any other class.
