We have a 2004 model klx 110. When you go thru a puddle or even just wet grass the engine will stall. There is an old post here http://www.thumperta...s-with-the-110/ but the problem isnt solved.

It seems to me that something electrical is getting wet and earthing out. We have tried to insulate the coil and sparkplug lead but still cuts out.

Has anyone had the same problem? if so how do you fix it. Thanks in advance.

Found out the solution to this problem on another post.
What happens when you go through water is.......water actually blocks the ends of the 2 breather tubes that go to the carby. All it needs is a drop of water on the open end of both tubes and the engine will cut out.
I tested this by riding along while blocking the ends of the tubes with my thumb and believe it or not the engine cut out.
The tubes are 3mm or 3/16 inside diameter which is too small. Maybe later machines have a larger diam tube like bigger bikes.

The fix is to get some 3mm vacuum tube and 2 x 3mm tees.
Cut both the tubes and insert the tee.... then install the extra tube into the tee and run it up into the frame. Now if the tube is blocked by water it can still breathe via the extra tubing you ran into the frame.

I didnt believe this could be the problem to start with but it works.

We can now ride through creeks no problem.
