242 lbs is light no matter where you ride in my opinion. except trials. My Beta trials is heavy at 177 lbs.

242 dry = 252 wet! for a street legal enduro bike!

I bet a Beta would be a great MX bike.... just gear it right and set up the suspension and go. .. ...

Basically an RR with 19" rear wheel, no headlight and simplified wiring, retuned suspension and engine.
Designed for MX and cross country events. Not able to be registered.
No idea if American Beta is bringing them in????
Should be interesting.

I'd guess that the power would be more aggressive. That would be good although the power is great as it is for me.

Exactly... with a few foofoo changes.. but what's with no skidplate? to lighten it? lol.... Who knows though. the bike could be radical power-wise.. I kind of doubt it but I'm just guessing. Beta had motocross bikes earlier. They might tap into that more than some of the trials motor properties that the enduro bikes enjoy now . It's cool but doesn't interest me as much . I would want what's already out which would be a newer 498 but RS if anything. Right now I'm just still loving my 09 525 RS . Next year or so I may look at an upgrade. Still wondering about the 2 stroke Beta's in enduro form. I would be more interested in that than the 350rr 4t Beta .

The 18" and 19" are pretty much the same diameter . It's just a stiffer , shorter sidewall thing for less rollover in turns ... This doesn't matter if it's in the states or not from my reading but where did you get the impression it is considered better other than the US.?

Timed it wrong.. I'd still be on the ground ...at least a little longer...It's good to be in shape and young.

I guess so. I just never thought of not ever having one on any of my bikes. ..plus this is an xc..and doesn't seem to be totally mx. I've always used my one bike to do everything with. Trail, hare n hounds, Mx and whatever. I don't know though ...even on an mx track you come up short and case jumps etc... at least a glide plate..but the stock rr skid plate is light and small. without it the downtubes will get hit.
