You know I keep looking but I get tripped up. Was looking at one that ran very well, but the plastics were scratched up, the frame was not grey but silver from all the boot rubbing, had aFMF pipe. new chain / sprokets but he wanted 1900. Looking at another today that looks like it was ridden less, plastics in better shape, has a new clutch, zeta lever, bars, graphics kit and he wants 2200, which if it is better seems to make sense to me? Other people are idiots with their prices, I keep telling them there is a reason you have been trying to sell for months, cause your a moron on your price. I may wait to spring if I cant find the deal I want
Alot of frame wear is an indication of many hours on the motor. May not be the right one to buy!!!! $2200 doesn't seem unreasonable providing the bike has been maintained properly.

Feel like I just got ripped off. I know I counted 2100 out before the I went there, I think that bastard hid a 100 and said there was only 2000, then I was like man I know I have been brain farting a lot, I thought maybe I had the other 100 on my desk on at home. But nope, I was wrong, ass ripped me off. Then I get home and see the stock exhaust is really bent underneathe it, didnt it see it till it was up high in the truck. Starting to think I got a bad deal, needs fork seals too, but I knew that, I hate buyers remorse, but its my own fault for not looking better and passing. The new graphics, clean frame & not many scuffs on the motor had me thinking it was solid. But it was a distraction. It seems to run fine but it looks like its crashed a lot with where I am seeing the bent front break clevis, didnt even think about checking the spokes or rims, god I feel like I am idiot, I am usually better than this. Maybe its my karma for all the low ball deals I have made on CL or just luck of the draw this time. Damn, I hate feeling shitty after a sale, I usually feel good. Oh well, it does seem to run fine, it does have a new clutch basket & plates. Its that 100 bucks, makes me hate everything about this sale, and he seemed like such a good guy

So I got my hundred backs. Which made me feel a lot better. Been to cold to really go through the bike but but things seem okay, needs to be jetted. I don't like the limited options with the clutch / hot start so I got a right side hotstart and put my kids Zeta perch & levers on. Which works out well sine this bike came with Zeta levers, I can put those back on the 80's stock perch. Dropping it off my mechanic buddies, new fork seals, have him go through it really good, might do new rings or a top end if its warranted. Wish it would warm up so we could ride and know what to change for him.

Anyone know what the stock springs are rated for? I read 140 pounds, but I read 90-120 elsewhere? Anyone?

If changing rings, get a HC piston.

Having a compression test done today to see if rings or anything are needed, scored a brand new used stock exhaust for 55 bucks with shipping on ebay last night, so that wasn't too bad. Any of you guys ever find a cure for the finiky jetting on these bikes? My mechanic says even if he gets it dialed they are very sensitive to temp changes & a quick shot and fuel screw only does to much.

I just put new jets in mine last night and it runs a lot better. Used a 42 pilot w/140 main as recommended. I also ordered a 45 pilot if I need it. My son has not taken it out yet but I can already tell it is running a lot smoother. I also replaced the fuel screw with an extended one. That was a pain in the butt to change without taking off the carburator. I thought taking it off was bad but putting it back on was just as bad. The washer and gasket kept falling off the spring.

My son can ride from 50-80 without changing anything. He can ride below and above that with fuel screw and leak jet adjustments. Elevation doesn't change which should make for more stable jetting. My son races MX, HS and trail rides between 40 and 90*f most of the year. I also found a larger main and a 42 works the best for a wide range of temps.

Thanks guys, I was actually going to ask if the leak jet / quick shot was worth it. I have a new unopened quick shot 2 laying around but this bike came with some sort of red accelerator pump cover that is supposed to do the same thing but I cant even find it on line so I have no idea what the thing is. Wish the damn snow would melt and get above 50 for a week so we can go ride. Everywhere still has a foot of snow cause its been so cold. Not used to in Colorado, it usually snows, is gone the next day, dry by the weekends.
