Last year I bought a left over 2009 TE 450 from the local Husky dealer. I love the bike, but now I'm kicking around the idea of a two stroke. I grew up on 2 strokes, and love the way they handle in the woods. I called the dealer this morning to see what they had in stock, and they have an '09 WR 300. Brand new, never ridden. They want $6000 out the door. I thought it was a little pricey for a 3 year old bike, but that includes taxes and dealer setup, and all of the other little hidden charges. WIth my last bike, they wouldn't haggle at all on the price, other than throwing in a free helmet (which when I mentioned it, you'd have thought I asked for his first born.) Just wondering what other people thought.

I just bought a 2011 WR 300 for $5799. That's before taxes. I bought it out of state and will pay state taxes when I title/register it here in Utah. I bought it in Idaho. Got a free beanie and sweatshirt!

Did they charge you any assembly charge or anything else? I've been looking on Cycle Trader and that they're going for that price at a dealer in Indiana for the '11. I would gladly drive the 3.5 hours for the '11. From what I've read, the Kayaba front is supposed to be quite an improvement over the Marzocchi (not that I have any complaints, thats what came on my TE).

No fees. None. I was actually surprised that there weren't any.

The 2009 didn't have the Ducati ignition, I believe. Don't know anything about what was in them before the Ducati system.

It's pouring rain here in Utah when it should be snowing. I've only ridden the bike around the driveway in first gear durning the first two start-ups. Just warming up the engine for the first few times. Its almost ready for its break-in ride which should hopefully be in Moab in the next few weeks. I want to ride Sovereign Trail for the first ride.

I ride/race mostly Eastern single track. I raced mine the entire 2011 series in the VCHSS and it worked wonderfully (one DNF due to having too much freeplay in my throttle cable, my fault not the bikes). I've ridden it once on 2 track rocky terrain and it was awesome there, the only mx riding I've done with it has been during the races. It is a great bike and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

I ride mostly single track also, but alot of the connecting trails are two track and dirt roads which would be great to let cut a beast like that loose! Like I said, I've been wanting a 2 stroke, and my brother just bought an older Kawasaki factory bike (It was a Kawasaki Factory riders backup enduro bike. A KX 250 that was basically converted into a KDX) Once I rode it, that kicked my 2 stroke dream into full swing! Just need to try and pay my 450 off by spring. I think $6k is pretty high. I guess I'll have to keep looking or try to talk him down in the spring.

I noticed you were also from Michigan. What dealer did you buy it from and where do you ride? We ride Mio a lot and West Branch once in awhile. Both my brother and I ride TE's. 450 for me and he rides a 310. We haven't seen another Husky on the trail, feels cool not to go with the trends.
