Sounds like you are set on lifting it so i would recomend trying to get away with just the suspension lift and no body lift. If you do end up doing the body lift too, make sure you get your drivelines correctly lengthened, (You may be able to get away with shimming them which is usually included with the kit but if not looking into getting custom drivelines, (At least the rear for now) and take a look at off road unlimited website, they sell a bunch of rock solid parts to help with the lift such as hydraulic steering rams, cross over kits, etc. All these parts are well worth the money if you can afford them, especially if you plan on keeping the truck.

The amount of stress and strain a lift over 4" and the cost of all the optional things you need to due are costly but if your set on 6" or 9" of lift seriously consider these.

I have owned lifted trucks and SUV's my whole life and finally decided to do it right with my 02 F250 when I went 8" with 37" tires. The steering box is a week link with lifted trucks (Hence the cross over steering and hydraulic steering ram) but after a few years of getting it dialed in I love being able to go off road and in the dunes with more confidence that just a lift kit with the bare bones...

And yes if I ever do it again, I would only go 4".. but I'm happy now!

just curious, have you actually measured the height of your tires. ill bet they are not 37" probably more like 35" (thats just how theyre made)

For the amount of money you want to spend (including all the money it will cost over time) you could have had something like this http://westernmass.c...2800372606.html And it would go way more places then your oversized half ton road machine. (by the way I wouldn't ever give the guy 5900 for it, I was just making a point)

im an avid jeeping enthusiast and i can say that yj is probably worth about 3000 tops. heck for that price you could get an old CJ-5 with an AMC v8 and it will outlive that YJ

I put a 4" lift on my '06 Silverado 1500 4x4 with 33's. I haven't had any issues and it's been ~50K miles. I also changed out the gearing to 410's cause it was a slug after the bigger tires.

i've got 33's on my 02 2500HD with cranked torsion bars, it makes it look like it's got a 2 inch (ish) lift all around being an hd, i thought about how much i wanted even a 4 in lift and 35's but i then realised how much i hate doing u-joints and decided to save the money for a good bike and some stuff to give my truck some more balls!
