Flywheel weight on dunes.

I purchased a used 2000 YZ426 back in March, the previous owner said that the bike had a flywheel weight in it. My question is will the weight hurt the bikes performance in the sand?

The extra flywheel weight only smooths out the power delivery, so I would say it probably will hurt you a little in the sand where you need all the acceleration you can muster. Mind you, the weight doesn't affect power output, it just provides extra inertia. The flywheel weight is desirable on tight trails and woods where you need to keep the engine from stalling.

dont know about the flywheel weight, but damn, cant wait to roost some sand this winter ?
