I don't browse my own site ad free. I need to see what ads are being displayed. This has nothng to do with Team TT which is entirely ad free browsing. But, you're welcome to wear a tin foil hat and entertain how we'll suck you into being a paid subscriber then not doing as we promised. That's how we roll you know... :smirk:

In terms of the IP addy, not that this is some valuable piece of info, but fair enough. :bonk:

Am I missing an easy way to navigate to sub forums? Getting to the KTM 2 stroke forum or any of the regional forums now seems to take an extra click.

As of today, it is what it is. What I'd like to do (if possible) is this:

When you click the "forums" tab that loads ALL forums, leave it as is. Otherwise listing all the sub-forums would make for a crazy long index page. However, if you click the vehicle specific links under the "quick nav" menu, say "dirt bikes", since those index pages are much shorter being vehicle specific forums only, show all the sub forums.

Another option is to click the red push pin to the right of the "view new content" button.

Ok,so my computer is sometimes a little slow anyways and my screen isn't one of those WIDE ones to fit all the side crap...
Just sayn'..It gets old waiting 8 seconds on every click i do(and i don't have ads to wait for). The ad area is there yet is a wasted blank 13 of the page. So the real page area is like reading a roll chart. I won't be here much anymore,or at least until i get a new computer

Before when you would just put the mouse's arrow on a post,  (without clicking on it) it would show you in  a little square the first 4 lines of that topic, so you can choose to move on, or actually click on that topic if you wanted to view it,    now it does not do that?

so you have to press on that topic,  then to find out you may not be interested in reading about it.

will it go back to the old way,  where if you just have the arrow on it,  the little square box pops out and reads out the first few sentences?

thanks.

We have stats on screen resolutions from our visitors and while we are compliant down to 1024X768 screen settings, compliant means that the site will display without a horizontal scroll bar. However, it's optimized for higher screen resolutions because that's what the bulk of our visitors use.

I can't speak for 8 second page loads as we're carefully monitoring response time, server load, etc... It's all in excellent shape from what we have control over. In terms of the side bar, I'll be the first too tell you, outside of ads, it seems like a bit of a waste, right? That side bar is preparation for future phases where our system will be able to show you other relevant content found elsewhere on the site. For example, you post a question about winterizing your bike. Our system knows that there is an article in our How-To section written by an accomplished engine builder and mechanic. To, unless you went looking, you've never know it was there. That's a same. On the new site, that article will show in the right column as relevant content.

The side column will also do similar things with relevant product reviews, riding areas, classified ads, events, etc... So, in a nut shell, we don't want to serve just more info, but hopefully more RELEVANT info by related like content together.

Thanks for your feedback and hopefully my answer gives you an better idea of where we're heading.

When you roll over the topics, just to the right, see the grey circle with the white arrow in it? Click it. Topic previews are there, they just function a bit differently. See my signature for some short how to videos on the most commonly used functions. I think it would help get you up to speed quickly.

Click the "view new content" button in the upper right. There you can find new posts, post you follow, topics you participated in, etc.. It's a central location instead of many different buttons all over the place to find info on the site. It's far more efficent and prettty cool. Check it out.

Avatars are smaller, but profile pictures are larger. At least for now, we have no plans to increase avatar size.

Also, checkout my signature for quick start videos. There is one that covers the "view new content" function. Give it a shot! :smirk:

If you click on your name in the top right corner of the screen, it brings up a drop-down menu. You can click on "my content" in that.

Again, click "view new content". There you can see forum content for topics you follow, started or participate in. The old site used to have buttons all over the place. Messy. Click the "view new contnet" button and you can see what you asked for and more.

You can also click the down arrow next to your loggged in name in the upper right of the screen. This area will allow you to see your content.

Both will get you to the same place if you're just looking for your posts. View new content button does that and more from a single screen.

Sorry I do not care for the new forum. I am sure it is something that you will get used too....but I have been through this before with other forums and its never the same. I just quit posting. I know update are inevitable but sometimes newer is not always better.
Thanks for the forum Bryan.

I understand that you need add space to pay for the site.. as far as becoming a TT member.. I refuse to pay TT to help other people.. Thats like a mechanic paying me to fix my car.. If I used TT for my personal gain I might consider it.. How ever I work for TT for free and TT gets paid for my work.. Yeah I know it's nominal but looking at my POV it's a tad bit annoying.. I just don't like the fact that I come to a dirtbike site and see greenpeace as an add.. you mentioned that I cansel my provider to TV for seing an commercial I don't aprove of.. Well I have a DVR I just FF past it.. But hey I am just a very outspoken person and will allways speak my mind weather or not you like it or not.. I don't sugar coat anything.. Yes it makes some people mad but atleast I'm not LYING or letting anyone down...... I don't like change or well change geared toward captial gain over functionality.. I do not think your point of the side bar being able to pull up relative searching.. It's going to turn out just like googles search where it shows you everything but what you're looking for.. That being said.. I am an ass and I know it and you know it.. I will and allways have speak what I am thinking.. I may or maynot be wrong but I am not shoving smoke up anyones rear to make them feel better. I am an unbiased equal oportunity ass!
:smirk: And who are you? You work for TT? Your bashing something that is in the begining stages of a major improvement from the last incarnation. Wait for all the bug's to be worked out and all the servers to be online in full power and then bring your complaints to the table. Till then I think you should be a little more understanding and patient. If not, don't let the door hit you where the good lord split ya'.

Marc, don't bother. He does this every so often and threatens to leave. Some people just don't know the difference between making suggestions and barking. When people bark at me, I don't forget and they should expect to talk to the hand. Life's too short to allow yourself to be ruled by haters that think the louder they yell, the better they'll be heard. :smirk:

We're pleased with the upgrade so far, the feedback is about what we expected and we're not sitting in the safe place of being static that others find comforting. Pushing means you'll make some uncomfortable and even mad. This goes with the territory and we expected of a few tirades. We've given them all coupons to replace their kittens we've killed, so all is well. :bonk:
