The bike still has this little bog I think, I don't think its the tall gearing. Its like i have to rev it up to keep it in the power. When I gas it real fast if I'm not up in the rpms, it will bog and I'll miss my wheelies over stuff. The bike rips in 2, 3 and 4th, but begins to fade in 5th and that part I feel is from the gearing. But down low when you blip it real fast, it has that hesitation....

800'-1300' 40-60 degrees, 45p, 152m, air/fuel is 2.25 now. Do I need to adjust the clip, leak, go to a 42p?? I'm about to break down and buy a JD, but I just don't think I need it bc I'm almost there, the bike rips once I'm over 1/8 maybe 1/4 throttle.. What do I do!!?

I post on ther thread before I saw this. What size leak jet are you running? I would back off the air fuel to 1 3/4 and try again. What did you end up doing for exhaust?

So far I had it drilled. Today I just removed the entire baffle and put the tip back on so it won't be so loud. I put the Twin Air in it today and removed the screen, but Im not gonna ride bc its pouring:bonk:...
I'm assuming all the other jets and needle is stock. What are you thinking?

You are lean on bottom.42pilot will be worse. Go up on pilot size and/or raise needle(drop clip position or shim needle with properly sized washer(s)).

I have a 45p in it now, I came up from a 42p. I stopped by the shop yesterday and my tuner gave me a 48p to try, so I'll get that in at some point in the next few days along w/ the 13/51t gearing. Hopefully all that will help the bottom!! Excatlt how do I shim this stock needle (2 clip posiotns only) w/ washers? I guess the right size will be whatever fits around it and how many should I use :bonk:

On top of your Fcr carb remove the two socket head cap screws(shcs) to remove top carb cover( if you have a tps one shcs has a clip under it). Use throttle to raise slide. remove shcs that holds needle in place. Use small needle nose pliers or a piece of small vaccum tubing to remove stock needle. Lower needle clip position if possible. If already at lowest position use a proper washer to shim needle up.(i believe it is a number 6 washer but don't hold me to it). If you have to use more than two washers under your needle to get correct throttle response., you may want to go up on your main jet.

Find a washewr the same outside diameter as the clip, leave the clip on and insert needle through washer. That will cause the assy the sit higher effectively raising the needle.

I was in the middle of replying when the site went down for maint, then stayed down for the protest. Let me do more research.
I found my JD kit which has my old needle it is a NCTV, NCVT is adjustable at 6 clip positions. I found it all over the place from 10 - 20 bucks, apparently it is used in YZ's and other bikes carbs as well. According to Ramsey's site it is interchangeable in later model carbs as well as the 06. The NCVQ is talked about quite a bit...some say this one is the same as the JD needle (the JD kit comes with a red and a blue..not sure which this is supposed to match).

AnywayPM me your address and I will mail you this one. NCVT.

I may have missed this from above, but did you do the AP mod for the bike? Its not a jet issue, it a lag in the AP getting fuel in the carb when in first gear at low rpm. The crf almost needs to be feathered like a 2-stroke until you do this.

Its a pain in the arse, as you know, to get to the carb, but once you have it out pop off the AP cover, wire the them together and call it good. If you get a hanging idle you will need to put in a larger leak jet, but if you can deal with that, your bog (famous on the 250x) will be gone. The difference is night and day.

Search for AP mod on the forum and you will find it for a 450. Same basic concept for a 250.

Good luck. Its like a brand new machine once you do this.

your air fuel mixture screw deals with the first 1/8 of your throttle, try adjusting that.

If you can't get it to clean up with the slow jet, buy R&D Power Pump 2 - has adjustable leak jet.
