my state just started plating dirt bikes. looking at this kit:

http://trickdualsport.com/yamaha.php

but not sure about this headlight. is it a dual beam? and how do they get away with using the stock stator? seems there would not be enough juice to run everything?

I have a kit from Sicass.com (http://sicassracing....&products_id=44)
No need for stator mods, no drain on the battery. It was about $300. If you want to add LED turn signals, it's $100 more. Nice kit, easy to install.:smirk:

Hopper Show, didn't know if you read this thread yet. Looks like the guy in this thread had to upgrade his stator for the "Trick" dualsport kit to keep his Battery from running out of juice. He has the part #'s and prices on there.

I totally agree. I put the kit on my 2007 WR450 and got it plated in California in 2011. Works great. The stock headlight is dual beam from the factory and this kits makes it work as such.

This was my thread and I found the problem. The rear blinkers had 23w bulbs which were drawing down more than the stator could handle. I replaced the 23w bulbs with 9.3w bulbs and replaced the brakelight bulb with an LED. Everything works great. Mine is an 06. My buddy did his 2007 at the same time which required a smaller size rear blinker and he has never had a problem. The rear blinkers were the ones supplied by TDS. Dale with TDS helped me work through the issue. TDS is the cleanest kit in my opinion. I just had the wrong size bulbs in the rear blinkers.

I have the Baja Designs kit on my 06 WR450, I've had it since 08 and have not had a problem and I ride it multiple times a week. The stator mod is a non issue Baja Designs does quality work. So as long as your not under a time crunch this a great kit.

Pschiess-what tires are you running, and are they DOT? Thanks!

Depending on where I ride I either run Michelin Desert Tires (fully DOT compliance) or Bridgestone Trail Wings off a DRZ 400 (great for easy trails and great on fire roads and pavement) or iff doing mainly trails I run non DOT tires (Michelin M12 on back and a Dunlop on front). The tires in the pictures are IRC on back which is not DOT compliant.
