I have an 01 Suzuki King Quad 300. We were having a starting problem and found that the starter brushes were bad. So we got a brush kit and reassembled it. When you hit the starter button, you can hear the starter spin but it isn't turning the engine over. It's like its not engaging the gear inside the case. I pulled the starter back out and when i stick my finger inside the case. I can feel the gear its supposed to connect with. This gear spins freely one way but not the other. I also tried rolling the engine over with the pull cord and hitting the starter but still get the same thing. I'm guessing that there is a gear inside the case that came off or something. But I figured I'd see if anybiody had any other ideas before i go digging any farther.
