I will say this, My Leatt saved me from snapping my neck this past August. The Leatt and the other neck devices are there to keep from breaking your neck that's it.

Broken collar bones? well I have broken mine many times and this last crash both were fine even from the impact of the leatt. Don't think one thing can keep you from being paralyzed, it's to keep you from dying that's it.

Even knee braces cause femur breaks, I know from it happening to me so a broken collar bone can be expected but you also have to fit the device correctly.

Just my opinion on this :bonk:

ya know out of everything in hearing here it all about, i hear the leatt brakes you collar bones (clavicle), thats the least god dam thing im worried about, im worried from hearing it can actually paralyze you from the rigidness and the back piece breaking your vertebrae from digging into your back, i am no doctor by any means and actually very young, but i know one thing ive crashed with my leatt adventure brace mulltiple times, and the last time i crashed which happened so fast i dont even know what happened, i think i got cross rutted up the face of the jump and cased the tripple just enough while landing sideways and slammed down, the back part of the leatt, the part that curls up towards the helmet covered in foam, grabbed the dirt and made me flip because of it, it actually cracked the plastic that suports the foam. any ways i walked away from the crash with my bell rung but with no whiplash, my biggest question, did it do more harm than good, and the even bigger question that gets me thinking and thinking, can it actually paralyze you. idk but i wish some one did know, and i think they should be doing alot of god dam testing right now on that, i mean i look at it this way, the pros always have stuff we can never get, suspension, special parts, etc, if some pros are not wearing one i think it means they know something that we dont. but i think magazines should be finding doctors and testing all these theories and rumors people have. i mean some pros wear theme so i have no idea, any one wanna add to this, i know its been discussed before but not recently and some one might have some more info now.

That is actually the point of knee braces and wrist braces, they can fix your arm bones, leg bones, it is much harder to fix joints. I know lots of people believe their Leatt saved them, but the independent studies coming out are not good for any of them. It bothers me that the ones that are in support of braces are all paid for by Leatt. It is also bothersome the man lost his license for creating fraudulent medical devices.

I'm not paid by Leatt nor Sponsored by them and my Doc is the one who told me my Leatt saved my neck from being snapped. So I am going off of my OWN testing of this. :bonk:

I'm not fighting with you, but I have to ask what will your opinion be if the doc tells you your being in a wheel chair is a direct result of the Leatt, should that ever happen? Or, if a real study came out and said its more dangerous, will you stop wearing it or say your doctors is the expert on the matter? I only ask cause lots of people say that the doc told them that. But me being in and out of hospitals and surgeries, have found they seem to tell you whatever you want to hear when it comes to safety equipment and their real thought is we are idiots for even riding bikes. In fact my ortho thanked me for putting his kid through college...Which was more of a slant that I am a moron for breaking bones

I would rather be in a Wheelchair then a box  But that's me.

I almost died once already from these damned 2 wheeled thingy's. :smirk: was in a Coma few 60 days so I ahhh will wear the leatt  The Leatt is only to keep you from Breaking your neck not your back and I have broken my back with out the Leatt lol.

But like I said before, Knee braces cause breaks to your bones so does the Leatt but they do what they were intended to do, keep that one area of your body in working condition.

And my Doc is a rider as well :bonk: and he is my Ortho surgeon  I have how ever the last few times rode with out mine and found it was nice with out my hair getting caught and tangled in it  But we will see when a actual study gets done

I would have to agree with that assessment. Although I am not sure if I would rather be dead or in a chair? Maybe waste down I live, chest down kill me or I am going to kill myself. And holy shit lady, how did you get that hurt? Track? Supermoto? Trails?

Feb 98 out at Ocotillo Wells 6th gear pinned and blam down I went. Broke a lot and shattered a lot of stuff. I don't remember much from then. I do remember a bit of being in the Helicopter  I never raced until I moved up here to WA and well never thought about it as I just liked to ride and have fun :bonk: .

I stayed off bikes from June 98 (when i got out of the Hospital) until Aug 07 when I bought my Supermoto and well it's all be a wild ride since then hehe :smirk:
