Whatever happened to AXO??

When I was big into riding in the late 80's, AXO was a big deal in boots.

Now days, they arent too popular. Are they making junk? Whats the deal?

My local dealer has a brand new set of RC5s on sale for 150.00 from 250.00.

I currently have a new pair of Thor cheapies and they are comfortable. I really wasnt planning on getting new boots, but these are nice. They seem to offer more support and are a little more comfortable than my cheap Thors.

Anyone used these boots? Are they worth ditching my new Thors for?

I can't speak for the new RC5s, but I've had RC2 and RC3s and liked them both a lot. Comfortable with good support. I broke a buckle on my RC3 about 2 months after I bought them, I called AXO to order new ones and they sent me a whole set for both boots for free .

AXO RC5 are one of the better boots out there. Equivelant to a Tech 6, but feel better IMO. I ordered some and you should too for $185.00 to your door!!!
Why? AXO lost its North American distributorship and EVERYONE is clearancing the AXO gear. These boots cost $235.00 last year this time!
AXO Italy is still going strong, but the wont be back here until someone picks them up for distributorship.

I run a pair of axo boxer boots, and they are comfortable.....theyve saved my ass alot whilst enduro riding :D

Anyway, I wear AXO boots and love them. My first pair were RC2's, I should have never thrown them out.

I tried a couple other brands without any luck, then bought a pair of RC6's off Ebay. I couldn't be happier. They took a few rides to break in but they are so comfortable that it doesn't even bother me to wear them all day. Good pedal feel and a slim design. Very, very good at keeping water out and great ankle support with the ability to move.

I bougth a spare pair and am actually thinking about a 3rd set for good measure. I lost a buckle during a hare scramble, AXO sells replacements directly for $20 all 4.

I had trouble with buckles breaking WAY too easily. Rest of boot broke in good and still in good shape. After having trouble getting decent replacement buckles for a decent price I just got new 661 boots. Hard to break in but nice now that they are.
