Do you find it easier on a big 4 Stroke? Or would a CR500AF work just as well?

The 500 should work well, a bit underpowered though:lol:

Mile hill is the longest @ 520' run, 322' elevation change and 37 degrees,  graver hill is the steepest at 39.5 degrees and 178' elevation change and 273' run.
Also I made an error on the jawbone run length it's a ~870' run.

I have posted Mile Hill and Graver Hill below. Mile Hill is very difficult on a Knobby. The gentleman in the second video is on a Honda XR 650 and he weighs only #150 LBS. He barely makes it and he is the best climber that I ride with. The second video is me with a Paddle Tire. It is a funny video. The cameaman [ Honda 650 rider ] falls down while filming. The third video is me on Graver hill.
Wow that is a long hill, just not very steep at 29 Degrees.

I have always loved these vids... my friend and I will most definately make the trip down there at least once and would enjoy riding some killer hills with you guys.

Would Love to have you join us. We always camp for the weekend. We also hit the trails in the afternoon when it is to hot to climb. Very scenic and interesting around Trevorton.

Hey Don, I might try and get some of the young guys I ride with to make the trek down there. We are in the Bath/Corning NY area. All are over 30. (Punks)
55 myself. Would like to show them it's not as easy as it looks, they think it is.

I like showing the young guys how to climb, being a retired Teacher, I give free lessons Ha Ha :bonk:

I have been climbing all of my Two Wheel Life, over 40 years. I have had hem all. I prefer my KTM 525. I like the little red button on the handlebars :smirk: A CR 500 would be my second choice. A 250 will not make the more difficult hills.

hey Perry, my bud and I are further north, but if you guys go, maybe we can link up and caravan down like dirt bike gypsies... both of us are cranky and old too!!

Youth and speed are no match for old-age and treachery. If anyone is serious about riding with Jared [ Jar944 ] and myself, please PM your contact inf. and I will contact you when our season starts.

He is not joking :smirk: Modern 450 four strokes are not capable of pulling the bigger hills. I do not want to scare you away, but you can still play on the easier hills if you are on a smaller displacement.

You should do ok. a very good rider can make a little 450 work on most of the hills:

Now Jared, that is misleading :bonk: The gentleman on this 450 is sporting a very long swing arm and he is also sporting the #1 plate for a reason :smirk:

Are you saying just because he has a AMA hillclimb #1 plate (ProSport class) he knows what he is doing....:smirk: We should convince those guys to come back.

Extended KX 500 not making it:

This is Jawbone, 90 minutes or so north of LA,
you want to climb come here in the spring and
hope for rain.

The one in the tread most shown.
Right click and see these full size.

This one really is as hard as it gets, ultra soft  whooped approach then straight up.

Posted Image

Get a frame, R6 or better motor, TA radial with steel scoops, and you may make it.
I have seen guys do it, just wild.

Here are some good clips of some free riding from Trevorton. Enjoy.
I hope the new park they're proposing doesn't affect our riding up there in a bad way.
Don and Jar you're right about the 450's up there. They really struggle with the bigger hills. Still fun to try though. Make sure you have a new back tire for the hills. Especially if the dirt is wet as it makes it more challenging.
Let me know when you guys are going up as I would like to go. I usually go several times a year, but friends are losing interest.

awesome hills, though before you measure Turn the vertical exaggeration back to 1, you appear to have it set to 3 which will skew your numbers.

OK, now that I have your attention  I have posted several of my videos in the past. I know you are probably thinking I am just tooting my horn, wrong.  I post them to hopefully stir up some friendly competition :smirk: on the hills. I am getting older  and I am beginning to have some physical problems which affect my ability. I have met an individual on the internet [ Jar944 on this site ] whom has become an excellent riding companion . I would like to share this experience with some more potential climbers. We do spend a lot of time on the hills but venture out to the trails and have a blast. We mainly ride at Trevorton and the Clearfield, Pa area. If their are any riders in the Pa. area that would like a new riding experience, please contact myself or Jar944 on this site.

There is a little blue pill for that you know!:bonk:

All things aside, If I ever make it your way I would take on any and every hill you want.

I assure you those hills are easy, in fact there was a time when I would have had a lot of trouble making a hill like that. Ahh yes, I remember those days.......it was just me and my PW50, roaming the wild country side..........oops:bonk:, back on topic.

Still looks like a heck of a good time, to bad its a few thousand miles away.

All kidding aside, my objective in sometimes being a bit of a smart :bonk: is to introduce the area and climbing to some fresh blood. Jared and myself have been climbing together for two years and I think he is glad he hooked up with me. If anyone is interested, I promise I am not that annoying in person and you will have an enjoyable experience. I have only received one PM with contact information. I am going to be 57 years old shortly, I am sure many of you should be able to out climb me. If you do I will by you lunch.

Looks like good 'clean' fun to me.

Nothing in those vids I wouldn't happily attempt.

Bit far for me for a day trip, though (4 hr drive range).

You could make it a weekend. I always camp, usually three days, sometimes four. I even have room in my MH for a few :smirk: It would be a memorable weekend.
