Was surfin the net and ran across this site:

http://www.mototuneu..._in_secrets.htm

Basically, it says to properly break in the engine,
a. warm up the engine
b. run it with hard acceleration and deceleration,

It gives a bunch of reasons of why this is better and 'evidence' of results..

As I'm not someone who believes everything that is written, I'm interested in your opinions of this article.. :)

Any thoughts?

yes, thats the method that is commonly accepted by most engine builders.

your window of opportunity is very short for proper seating of the rings.basically your not doing your motor favors by babying it. :)

like the article says theres a difference between opening the throttle and beating on a new motor.

it has already been takin to redline before it left the assembly line.

I buy a new bike every year and usually get about 2500-4000 miles on it before the next bike arrives. I have always started it up, get it to opperating temp around the block and stut it off. Park it and ride it like I stole it the next day. Not being really hard on it but not being nice. Always had good results. Same with ring changes on 2 smokes. I think the artical is right.

:D :)
