Would you rebuy?
690 with a fairing for 80mph hwy riding? Is it worth it?
I am reading most dealers are being shut out by KTM because they demand they carry to many $ in street KTM's on their floors so most seem to be going out of business or stop carrying the street line. True or False?

Is it true that 35mpg is the avg.? What if anything can be done to increase it, make it more cost efficient?

Still have the RPM jump all over below 4k RPM? It seems like it would be quite bothersome?
Is it safe in corners? Do I need to always to remember to be on the throttle otherwise the backend will washout?

How has KTM the company and dealer treated you?

What should I know? What am I missing?

Another big thing for me is when the highway gets shut down or traffic comes to a stop I like to be able to ride over curbs, medians, fields or what ever to get home the 21inch wheel on the f800gs is no problem would the 17inch SM wheels not handle it well or bend/break?
I am thinking about a 2010 990 sm-t $10,500 but I know almost nothing about it.

BMW has been screwing me as a customer and I need something else!
I ride from the country into the city for work. The roads vary from interstate to horrible D.C. potholes and trash. I have already had a key and a screw in my tire at two different times.
The BMW is not reliable and BMW per my experience will not treat or interact logically or fairly with the customer.

Thank you for you information and wisdom!

How well do they handle: Heated jacket, grips, gloves, pants?
My F800GS can not handle grips and a jacket. Wired to battery.

What do you do about not knowing how much fuel you have? It seems stupid not to have a clear tank or a fuel gage. Who wants to worry about how much fuel they have left?
Is there a fuel gage that can be added? Cost?

Wow, my 530 has been bulletproof. I was thinking about trading it in for a 800GS, as I am wanting something a bit more suited to long street rides.  Serious issues with the BMW or just small stuff?

A lot of stuff big and small.
The other big problem is the dealers act like it is my fault BMW made a shittee motorcycle.
The dealers also at times gave me back my motorcycle worse than when I dropped it off.
I have posted a lot on here and ADVrider.com about the multiple problems I have had. You will also see where a lot of others have had problems also.
I would like to sell me BMW and buy a KTM 990.

Ok thanks. I may just add a softer seat and a bit bigger gas tank to the 530 and call it good!  Not sure about the big bikes, but my KTM has been great.

Hmmm, I could use a a lot of words to describe my 530 for on road use, but scary is definately not one of them. Probably cause I'm just slow! (sorry lookn, veering off topic)

Get a V-strom and don't look back. My neighbor has 135,000 miles on his 05 and it runs like a swiss watch. Goes all over the place on it and never a problem.
