Nobody showed up today. Da Wife and I ice skated four laps around that baby just now. She's going to get her nails done. I'm going to pull a few hot laps. There are a couple of problem areas on the big fast triple apex sweeper I might have to deploy a couple of cones on to move the inside line out about four feet or so. No big deal. There's also a little water coming out from under the snow bank on the outside of the entrance to that corner. But it's not in the general line and the ice under it is thick.

are you going to be out about noon-thirty-ish tomorrow (Sunday)?  We'd love to come out and do a few laps!  I've figured out what I was doing wrong last time; I need to go faster, see, and apply more throttle.

Absolutely. Feel free to stay for the Superrbowl. If you get drunk you can stay the night. That's the deal here. Junk food, hearty chili and beer provided.

The theater screen is ten feet wide.

I hot lapped the track a couple of hours ago. It was SWEET! I gear up a front tooth and tossed on a 320mm supermoto rotor. Both worked excellent. The questionable spots on the track were not an issue. The thawed and refrozen track seems to like slightly different lines.

My new parts should be back from Gorr monday. Im too buisy with the new house to deploy the stock 250. So im not riding this weekend. I should have a totaly rebuilt 300 running next weekend for shure. He put a iron liner in this cylinder for reliability so hopefully this one dosnt crack and crap out like the last one. Eric fixed it for free I cant complain. He recived my crap jug wendsday and new parts were sent friday. He is sending me a 92 head also besides the 110 head I run. Some time when you rebuild your bike shager we can compare heads to make shure the head I gave you was a 92 head. Eric had a reserve stash of head gaskets and felt bad for me and gave me one so I could get back on the ice faster.
Maybe Saterday or Friday ill come up there and try the new beast out. Im kinda interested to ride my old 295 compared to this built 295 I have. Im realy starting to dial the bike in.

I sent him and E-Mail about the deal. But I didn't get anythng back. I was wondering if I could send him the one I have to either confirm or modify, if possible.

Do you need to send solders with a head? I'm thinking about sending him a head to 92 just to know for sure that I have a 92 before I go off to Utah, where I have no idea about where to get race gas.

We could compare it to the 92 head im getting to make shure. With a flat edge and a caliper it shouldnt be too hard to compare the 2.

I eBayed a head today. Once I get it I'll attempt to call him up and see what he needs to make me a 92. The Utah trip approaches so I'm getting a little nervous.

Does he identify the particular units for his own referance?

Are you going to be around friday. I got my top end yesterday in the mail im going to install it today. I was thinking of riding some friday as I have thursday-sunday off this week.We are riding sunday at my track if anybody wants to come. Im kinda iching to try the new top end out. I had just got the bike dialed in for ice then the top end craped out.

We'll be in riding Utah and Colorado during the end of March. I'll be around tomorrow. I had old guy surgery today. But I should be in reasonable health tomorrow. It's supposed to be a bit chilly tomorrow however. I had to starve myself for a couple of days so I get cold easy just now.

Can I send Gorr a head and get a 92 back? Or do I need to send him solders with it?

I'm feeling better. I just skated eight laps around the track. It's in good shape. Ride 'em if you got 'em.

The snow we got turned out to get pretty quad resistant on a wide track. But I got 'er done. There are a lot of small holes puking water on the track. Hopefull those hols will flood the low spots. If the cooler nights toward the end of the week freeze everything up nice, the track will be mint supreme next weekend.

Da Wife got some nice pictures of you Tranqwhl. She had me do a Costco dump of some of the nicer ones. I have a pretty nice 8X10 here for you.

daaaaang that's cool dude!  That's totally awesome, unnecessarily cool!  You didn't have to do that, but I will definitely come this weekend!

Let's hope no more snow flies... I can't believe you got that heavy snow-cone snow off your track.

Scoops and I both burned through an entire tank of gas Sunday!  On an XR100, that's a whole lotta pinned.  We did some marathon sessions out there, my hips were really sore the next day.

Your track is great fun, we had a ball with those other guys who had minis as well.  The far back section, it's pinned leading into the right, which leads into the left, left, left, right... it's fun to try to keep it completely pinned through that entire section.  It's just an XR 100, but I still think being able to keep it to the stop pinned through there is not something everybody is willing to do!   :bonk:   It opens your eyes, that's for sure.

thanks again

Took me all day. The track is wider in a lot of places than the quad can push so I had to take a couple of bites here and there.

We just CC skied the track to look it over. It's ugly. But if it freezes up it should ride pretty nice. There are some five gallon bucket sized holes that are freezing over. But the track is crowning a bit. So even if they don't freeze up there will be a line. I'll just have to cone the bad spots. The worst spot had two inches of ice over it. A couple of cold nights aught to do the trick.

Are you thinking the ride day is "the usual"; Sunday?

If it is Sunday, S14, you going to come play?  We have not iced it up this year my friend!

I just got off the plow. Nobody is here yet. The track has frozen up more or less solid with no standing water. There were a number of baby heads due to the flooded areas when I plowed the heavy wet off. They have been mostly eradicated. Most of the track is very good shape with a few rough spots with unknown traction until burnt in.

I'm going to wait until the temperature tops out and have a few test laps if nobody shows up.

Nobody showed. I test rode the track and found it in really good condition. The rough spots have less traction, but not bad. Some areas are to be avoided if you are going to cut a smooth line. You may not want to drag your boot here and there. But the ice is hard and has great traction. It's frozen as least as hard as it has been all winter.

that's a nice picture, lots of detail, my cell phone's camera doesn't do it justice:

today was major fun again; the ice was very hard, it was fast.  I kinda figured out half of my problem; not only was my rear tire flat, I broke my frame again!  This time in a different place.  This time it's up towards the top.  I noticed a big gap between my seat and the tank; turns out things were "apart".

As far as the motor not wanting to run, I haven't pulled the carb apart to see what's going on.  It's weird.  The poor girl, broken frame, won't idle, blurbled hardcore even wide-open; "something ain't right".

"For Sale:  2000 XR 100, adult ridden/maintained.  Ridden by old vet rider only on Sundays.

(JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!  she is not really for sale, nor has she been maintained)

I rode sunday on my track. I keep geting stuck at my track this year as nobody else has a good running plow and nobody wants to bring a plow truck. Next year ill have a plow on my truck. I high sided hard at 50+ yesterday but I walked away after I caught my wind. It been a horible year for my race bike its melted down twice. I just got my jug back again but didnt have time to put it on so I rode my spare 250. I was still riding the fastest laps with a stock 250.  I leave for the dunes the 14th so I think I have on weekend of ice left if there is one. Im putting new crank seals in my race bike and hopefully this time it makes it more then 1/4 mile before melting down like the last new top end did........ :bonk: One a side not ive rode just about every bike besides my race bike this year and nothing was a smooth and easy to ride as my 295. I could ride crazy fast laps and not get tired or pumped up. I wouldnt even trade the power for a 500. Wr gears, rekluse set high hard with tugnstons, and the 295 is just awsome on the ice.
Eric has the new head gaskets in stock now he sent me 3 the other day with my rehoned jug. He has also updated the pistons too. There now coated and have more oiling holes.
