Is this LED lighting set up to run in your Dual Sport housings yet or will it ever be??
Would love to run this light if possible but not interested in a 2nd housing for off road

With that much room left over they could make a "optional" kit with 6 of the lights in there , as it looks like you could easily add 4 more to the 4 in there

Will there be a price difference if you just want the light that drops into your existing shell?

I love everything about it but the price but, I guess you're paying for how compact it is. The trail tech race light makes 22,000 lux in halogen and 55,000 in HID so it doesn't stack up head to head but I guess it's probably less than quarter of the weight.

btw the trail tech race light starts at $261 while this starts at $329

You get what you pay for!

I couldn't agree more this could be a great upgrade.  I'm only curious if they are going to recommend the light needs to be running constantly because of the stator rewind.  I guess it wouldn't really matter because the stock one does also and I believe LED's have a pretty long lifespan.  The problem with my stock light housing is that I can't get the beam to project right out in front of the bike outward (so I can see right in front of me) and project outward without the fender casting a huge shadow.  Does anyone else have this issue?

I guess you guys are right you do get what you pay for. I'll start saving my pennies because it does look like a great light. I give up on trying to  aim or set the stock light can't see anything.

The trail tech extreme is a great light, its just heavy and draws allot of power, 95 watts I used it for 2 years, i recently switched to an 8" HID race light,
I would like to se how this LED stacks up. the weight savings is nice but when your racing at night the more light the better.

I just rode from Valley T to Mike's Sky Rancho at night last Friday. Two of the bikes where running the new BD LED's. They are very nice lights but you could out run them, for that matter I'm running one BD 8" HID and I could out run it also, but when compared (if your racing) I would go with the HID, if not go with the LED's.

There will be a price difference for the just drop in style compared to the one installed into the shell. pricing i will know more in several weeks as we are working what are cost is to make these parts.
Mark you never skimp on anything especially lighting :bonk:
On the CRF450x a light has to be running no matter what once the stator has been rewound. Is your stock fender still red? If so paint it black so you don't get the shadow affect.

That is something I did not know. I currently run the Trick DS kit, which has an on/off for the light and daytime light. If I do the rewind and go to this light in the stock housing (which is what I'd really like to do) how would that work?

Not yet. We are closed all next weeks so I would assume with in the first or second week on the new year we will know!

You would have to run this light directly into the trick DS kit via high beam or low beam. Once your stator has been rewound make sure the Trick DS kit runs directly off the battery.
