While overtaking a truck, i heard kind of pop from the front
of the engine, and then the bike just died. While it was dying i couldnt get the engine to rev at all.I pulled over to the side and when i kicked it some smoke/steam came out the front of the engine. It sounded like a gasket blowing.

Over the last couple of weeks it smelled like maybe there was coolant leaking into the engine, and it has also been getting harder and harder to start.

Can anyone tell me if these are all linked, or while i have it in the workshop will they have to sort out the starting also?

The bike is a 2000 VOR SM 500.
Thanks Steve :D :)

Does'nt sound good, I'm thinking a teardown of the engine will be needed!!!. Good luck partner I hope it's not to pricey?. :)

Yep, all linked. You blew a head gasket.
Hope you didn't get the engine too hot.
