I came across this company selling a chinese-made dirt bike...they call it a Z150. Anybody ever heard of these or have any experience with it? Looks like a decent price, but I'd want to talk to someone who owns one before I thought seriously about getting one for my kids to beat up. Here's the link: http://www.cobramotors.com/zs.html

Parts Department

We carry a full line of parts for Cobra Motors and Geely scooters. Including the JL50QT-2B, JL50QT-15, JL50QT-16, JL50QT-21, KP50QT-2B, KP50QT-21, KP50QT-15

No place do they list parts for the Z150, and the parts they list and show....well not much there.

New price of $1600?? Save a few more weeks and get a '00-'01 DRZ
If it was dropped on on my lawn, I might consider it, but no way would I pay for it. Of course I could be wrong :D

I would be very wary of something like that. No dealer support, questionable quality, etc. I think you're asking for trouble.
Save up for a good used Honda XR or Yam TTR.
I would hate to see you throw away $1600.00 (or just send ME the money :))
Good Luck!

Wow Looks like the DRZ has competition. :D

Geez man its made in China

They haven't stolen any of the Secrets yet from the other manufactures Thats retro 70's.

I know why they have not updated the bikes yet.

Clinton was against OHV and so therefor he did not sell trade secrets to the chinese like he and Hilarious did with the Nucs :)

I'm skeptical too...(ergo, my question to the forum if anybody has experience with them). Can't help but think back at the chuckles I got in '81 driving around in a Toyota Celica. We all know how that turned out...

Parts querey is a good point, well noted.

Their website lists $1600...but they are going cheaper on ebay. I've got an XL600R and TT-R125...this one would be a learner for my daughter, and what I'd designate as the "guest" bike...(i.e..."here, you can ride this one Uncle Bob").

Still would like to hear from anybody who's actually seen/rode/run over/helped tow one of these!

That limited edition 150cc mini thumper has a top speed of 60 and is sweet. There is some guy around my house that has one and I see him wheeling it all the time. I'm getting one.

I got an e-mail back from one of the ebay buyers.... he's happy with it...but I get the sense this might be his first bike ever. Any chance your neighbor would give a review for you to post?

I think I saw a guy with one of those at Tahuya. Every time I met his group on one of the loops, they were waiting for him to fix something else. I did see it working once in the parking lot/staging area.

After re-reading the website, scooter section I have to correct myself. The guy in my neighborhood has a scooter that is two stroke, street legal in CA. It has nice looking shocks and tires and absolutly screams. Looks like the perfect around town thrasher. The suspension looks like it can handle jumping off curbs and stuff like that. It has a big front brake rotor and all the go fast looking stuff. I dont' think it is from the same company. Next time I see him I'm going to wave him down and question him.
