99 YZ400F Fork air bleed

Recommended Posts

Lately i think my fork has gone stiffer then what it use to be, but mostly when i land after a jump, straight out it seems ok. The only other time i had the same feeling is once i pumped my old VFR fork too hard and did a wheelie, so iam wondering if there over time will build up a pressure inside the fork, and therefor its weird.. ?

Well as far as i can read there should be no air pressure inside the fork legs and the air bleed screw is the once at the top, thats not in the center, correct? how often should the be bleed, if they should? Of course it depends of the use, iam thinking rule of thump :busted:

Thanks in advance!

I always pump my forks a few times before I ride and then bleed the air ( I have push-button bleeders). Yes they are the ones at the top (or near the perimeter of the cap), not the one in the center, which is the compression adjuster.
The adjuster on the top of YZ/YZF forks prior to '05 is the rebound adjuster, not the compression.
