It's not the seals that wear when using tie downs, it's the springs being in a compressed mode for a long period of time. Still not enough to worry about. The seals are made to be whipers and oil keepers, always bleed the air out of your forks and the pressure will never be enough to push the oil out of the seal.

i have the lock n'load in my trailer and love it. They are alot easier then having straps going everywhere when you have multiple bikes in the trailer. They are also easily removed and just 2 flat plats are left with drings on one end

I have these in my trailer the only plastic parts on them are the red parts which are not sructural its, they are just the wings formed around the bolts holding it down and the 2 plastic knobs that activate the pins. The rest of the lock n' load is made of steel. I have never had a bike come loose with them in my trailer.
