Hi guys I'm new here. just got a 2008 klx 140L, I'm 46 and getting back into riding slowly. I'm trying to figure out the link flip to stiffen things up and lift the rear, I'm stumped, I've searched and read every one of art5's posts, there are no diagrams. could someone please take 5 minutes and help the old guy : ) so i don't mess things up, explain it to me in detail, like I'm 6 years old, and pics would help a lot, I'm just not seeing it, been looking at the triangle link for 3 days, i just don't see how flipping it over will work?? help me kids!!:bonk: love the bike!

It's a little tricky but very do able. Just like it sounds you flip it. But there will be a bit of grinding involved. Mark the bottom of the link before removing or anything facing down on it. Because once you remove it it is hard to tell which way was up. There are three points on the link. One is the only place where the shock will mount to the other two are what needs to be flipped. Makes a huge difference in ride height and overall suspension travel. 3-4 inches. After flipping, but before mounting, a bit of the aluminum towards the front of the link has to be removed or it will hit the frame.

I think I need to find one of these bikes for a project. Does this mod work on the standard KLX140 as well as the 140l?
