'09 YZ450 spare rim

Now I know Yamaha went with a 25mm axle starting in 2009. What I'm trying to figure out is if there is a cheaper alternative than going aftermarket for a spare rim.

Can I replace an older hubs bearings with bearings from the 09? Did the outer circumference change as well?

Although a number of people have attempted to find a bearing with the correct dimensions to convert an older hub to the 25mm axle, I know of no one who has found anything yet.
