Anyway, it is nice that KTM builds motorcycles for those who are either too lazy or too stupid to be able to correctly kick-start a motorcycle.

It's also nice that KTM builds a bike for those who are too stupid/lazy to grease the rear linkage, change handlebars, mess with a new clutch perch/cable, use a kick-starter, add an O-ring chain, etc..etc.. :)

Nah...they just know KTM riders are better then Yamadog riders, so they keep us better by keeping us on the track/trail with our "no accessory needed" bikes instead of in the garage (Which is where Yamadogs should be) putting our bikes back together with tricker stuff. They do that for us....can you say... "almost factory" ??

:)

Wow, I never thought that a simple question would start such a food fight! :)

I just have one thing to say... I will race anyone, anywhere, anytime on my 426. I may not win, but if it's an excuse to go riding then count me in! :D

I am in the position of buying a bike soon. I know for sure I want a 4 stroke.

The YZ426 retails $5999.00 the KTM 400SX retails $6448.00 and the Honda CR450F is in the range of the KTM I think.

The Cannondale is $7999.00. Why I don't know!It is out of the question for me.

The 400 or 500 dollars is not the deciding factor. All the bikes have pluses and minuses. I really would like a chance to ride them. I am sure one of them would fit my style and riding level best and that's the one I should buy. What ever happened to demo bikes. I would gladly pay a fee to cover insurance and such. It seems to me a dealer could get alot of return on a well thought out demo program.

The fit and finish of the KTM is impressive.

I am trying not to let the post regarding cracked fuel tanks and blown up engines influence my decision. It is scary to read "I will never buy a Yahmaha again". All of these bikes come with no warranty to speak of. We are at the mercy of the dealer and manufacturer to do the right thing. It has to be a factor.

What a stupid pissing contest...sounds like the hillbilly redneck ford-chevy debates. Grow up guys. Both bikes are great..The people who slam one bike company probably aren't much on the track anyway. Anybody knows that it ain't ever the bike. I've had guys (girls too..hate to admit) on every
make, size and model kick my butt on a track and woods racing at some time. You know what,
all are machines eventually break.

You just have to pay twice as much for Katoom parts....He He He sorry ..had to

emcdan,

Who's pissing now? Remember yellow on blue makes green! I hope that everyone looks at this in perspective, as it's all in good fun! And that's what it's all about, the FUN! It doesn't matter what make or color of bike you have, as long as we can ride and enjoy ourselves! Roost on Yamaha/KTM brethren!! :)

Hey emc...

Don't even get me started on Fords...the only thing I hate worse than a Ford is a Ford with a KTM in the back!

Although a two-six jumping a Ford with a KTM in the back would make for a great shot! :)

All in good fun...ride on brothers!!!
