My 2011 WR450. All stock except for AIS Kit and 96dB insert. What a blast!! The last bike I had (long ago) was a 1985 XR350. Bikes sure have come a long way!

Worked on it a little, uncorking it mostly. Took it out for a little 90 mile jaunt Sunday.

My first new dirt bike. Always bought used, but I figured now would be a good time to get a leftover 2011 model before the new 2012's came out. Big difference from my XR650L and my 1990 CR250. After riding it, I absolutely love the bike, especially in the rough hack. Basic free mods (Left the AIS alone) and added Works Connection radiator braces, Acerbis upper fork guards, Tugger's fore and aft, Moose Racing fender bag,Tusk D-Flex bars, and Tusk seal savers. After the second ride I broke off my rear brake guard, so I just got its TM replacement. Last mod I want to do is respring the suspension. Have parts on the way (thank you craigslist) and the right spring ratios will be in place including a YZ titanium spring. Here she sits as of now.

Hi being a newbie to the forum and WRs i thought i would post a picture of my first Wr426 brought just six weeks ago. I love the bike and it is perfect for the trails around here (Southern Portugal). It has an X3 pipe and the airbox has been modded adn the front forks re valved. I am currently giving the bike a complete service

Having viewed a threads on the forum I am pretty sure it has yz bodywork but i am unsure which year, could anybody help me out? The original bike is a 2002 wr426f made in Spain so is the european model

Not sure what you are asking. The YZ doesn't have a tail light or a kick stand and the headlamp looks after market.

Hi Byggd

Sry to confuse, The tail piece is wr but i am unsure if the seat, tank and sidepanels are. The reason for asking is I want to get new graphics for the bike but dont want to order a set for a Wr if the panels are yz.

Thanks
Richard

Riding in the Wilson Canyon area of NV. Long rocky hill. Notice the DRZ part way up. This was only about half way up the hill where i took the picture.Posted Image

Looks like a YZ tank and seat ..... at least compared to the 02 model sold in the US. How much gas does it hold?

As a reference the US WR & YZ use the same plastics with the exception of the rear fender.

98 to 02 YZ Graphics will fit your bike
I dont know if the Euro WR had the goofy large tank that came on the US models. But your bike has a YZ tank and seat.
I think I have white number plate backrounds you can have if you want them. I remember the exhaust side number plate is tough to get a backround to lay flat over the the big bump in the plate

Thanks for the info, having stripped thr bike down over the past couple of days i might put a thread up here about the restoration as i currently have to buy just about every consumable new as they are all out of tolerance and i havent even started on the engine yet!
