???'s about settings on a YZ426 w/ Vapor Trail Tech

I'm trying to set the correct settings on my Vapor to my 426.

So the questions I have:
1. What is the number of ignition pulses per revolution?
2. What's a High Tempature for the 426?
3. What's a over temp danger point?
4. Does anyone know the RPM shift points/max RPM for the 426?

I've been trying to search around on the internet and also I just can't seem to open any manuals right now because they are all PDF and as of right now my computer won't open any PDF files.

To your questions:

1) One per revolution (even though it's a four-stroke)

2 and 3) Depends on your coolant. Using the prescribed 50/50 ethylene gylcol anti-freeze/water mix and assuming your radiator cap is good, boiling will occur at 265-270. Call 240-245 "High", and 260 "dangerous".

4) The 426 is rev limited to 11,500 RPM. Power peaks at about 8,500, and drops off pretty hard at around 10K. "Shift points" should be between the peak of power and the drop off, but unless you're drag racing, it's fairly useless to set them up, IMO.

For the coolant I'm using Engine Ice and my 426 is a supermoto setup and I do tracks days with it, so that's why I was wondering about the set up for the RPM's

Where did you put splice into your temperature hose for the hottest reading?

I don't know where he put his, but the point that should be measured is the hose coming from the head to the top of the radiator. That's the uncooled water coming from the engine, and is the more accurate measure of engine temps.
