leftover 2011 YZ 450's for cheap?

Recommended Posts

Been trying to buy a new YZ 450 (2011) bike since March at my dealer. He was told they are SPARSE and he only got 2 for this year. He has been looking at auctions and the warehouse, and none available on the east coast for months. He hasn't had one since February this year. Plenty of 250's , but no 450's.

Make a long story short. I am looking at a buddies picture of his bike that he sent me (a 2010 YZ 450, which I have one of) and ask Ron what it's worth this morning, since this guy is selling it. Ron said that he just got a hold of 15 new YZ's for a crazy price just yesterday, but doesn't have them yet. He was kinda fuming when he said that, cause he has been told there are none by his rep all year, then yesterday they mysteriousness have boat loads now ( I live in PA, may be different in Ca). He was waiting for me to come in, since he knew that I had to finish up the new HVAC system that we installed. What the heck? That many dealers going under or canceling the remaining orders or what?

Anyone else found this out to be true, or is it just my area, cause around here there was no YZ 450's for sale since March!

I can get a brand new 2011 for 1300 more than the guy selling his used 2010, and he lives 300 miles away. Kinda no brainer on what to do , but what do you guys think?

What do you think of Yamaha not having any bikes and then WHAM! Right before the 2012's get released they have bunches and bunches of 2011's?

I blew up my 2010 in July and went to the local dealer (Hicksville NY) and bought a 2011 for $7,750 plus tax, he had the special edition in stock. They should be getting the 2012's in they come blue with black rims i would wait for that. I bought my first one (2010) at North American War Horse Dunmore PA jan 2010 for $7,650 and no tax. Just search around make a lot of calls and you will get what you want

Thanks! I know other dealers have them, but at 7750, that is retail minus the rebate. I pay cash, don't finance, don't trade anything so I just want to pay less than that. That is why I haven't got one and my dealer couldn't find a dealer who wanted to let one go for less than retail.

I don't think the 12 is much different than the 11, which wasn't different than the '10 except for the clutch lever. The 12 has different mapping, a little bit of refined suspension, a longer, quieter exhaust, and a refinement to the shifting mechanism. Not much. I think that I will save close to 2500 over the twelve.

Actually, they have 750 rebates instead of 500 as of today on the 2011 model. Just for shits and giggles, I am going to call an out of the area dealer and see what they are at the moment

My dealer had only one 2011 left and said I could have it for $6500.00 so I took it and after sales tax it came out to $6825.00 OTD.

I have had it for only a couple a weeks. My suspension tuner has it now putting a SPI kit in it like on my 2010. He will be bringing it to me tomorrow at the track.

I was hoping my Graphics would have been here by now so I could have had them on the plastics to where I could ride it at the track tomorrow during practice.

Thats the kind of prices I'm talking about.........................

I was waiting till March (2011) like usual, but it didn't work this year. I usually wait till the consumer rebates and/or dealer rebates come out. Then I get more off since I buy at least one bike every year (sometimes two) and I buy all stuff there. All my TLD stuff, tires, oils and parts. Yes Ron treats me good, but I drop some money in there too.

Va? you ride Weinert's at all during the winter? I'll be coming down a couple times, and I see you post on here some. Maybe we can hook up and ride together. I got a younger boy who rides also, and he loves that place.

Never heard of Weinerts .......I'm in south western VA near the NC line. I'm about 45 mins from a track called Pro-Sport MX in Wytheville VA.

Anyways ....When I bought my 2011 that was counting a $700.00 dollar rebate yamaha had and I got it financed for 3 years @ 3.99% through Yamaha.

My 2010 that I Financed was @ 10.99% so by far the 2011 was a better deal.

I see your from PA, Try World of Wheels in Seneca Pa 866-676-5721 and ask for Bob. Tell him Kevin sent you and he will take care of you. They are 1:30 hours from me but I have never found a dealer like his. They always treat you right and they make you feel like your part of there family. I can't say enough about his dealership. I have been buying bikes for 23 years and once I found them many many years ago I never looked anywhere else.

I know other dealers have them, but I just couldn't get one at a good price. Point of the story is, why the heck can my dealer get 15 of these bikes, and all year he has been trying to get more. Ordered 20 at the show, got two this year I think. I really don't want to buy anything at any other dealer, but Ron couldn't get his hands on one for me.

Now Yamaha motors has a shitload of them so what happened? Also another dealer that we do some mechanicals for just got 25 of them. Free flooring till July1, 2012.

Stopped in today to check out the progress at 6:30 PM on our work and Ron has them. Selling Under 6K for 2011's. Just thought that is what I would pay all along. So that many dealers go belly up? Or is Yamaha trying to create a demand and it backfired? Here in Pa, we see very few Modern YZ 450's.

Last year I posted on here about prices and some of you PMed me about these crazy prices. Crazy till I told you who to call!! I think that is the price to anyone.

Hey Honda 907 Iam a 51 year old rider from Pa currently living in SC feel free to check in with me if you are heading south I will show you around this area

No problem. You have a face book account, that would be easier to use than this site. I plan to come on down later this winter. Probably two times. I am thinking of trying TNT park.

I see Weinert just opened Crystal Coast up again! We also like that place. I got a ton of work till Christmas, but after the middle of January, I should be freed up.
