A weedwacker a toy? To help you, her son, cut the grass and keep the lawn looking nice?  Personally I would have told her to go to Dallas or divorce court or hell. Not funny then or now. Yeah, I am a Texan!

I have the 12 Te 300 also, Awesome bike, I love it! Beware when ordering the light kit, the headlight kit for a 11-12 XC-W will not fit, the front plastics are the same as an 07 KTM. I just ordered the Husaberg headlight and it fits great. Tried everyhting to get an EE light kit to fit for the last model KTM, but it was a no go.

Also got heavier springs from racetech, it really helps and I love the way it handles, however I was unable to get a rear yellow spring, I had to go with orange, it doesnt look bad, but it doesnt look great either.

Good luck with the new bike, I know I love mine!

Spend $20 and powdercoat the spring Yellow.

Yes,  that's what I did - This race tech spring was from my previous 200 and was orange,  I had it done in white.

I just had the carb built up useing some different internal , new jets ,needles and a different slide along with a FMF Gnarly and turbin core 2 SA, one of the guys at the shop i go to races in some of the New England and New York circuits and hooked me up with the spec from FMF that is used in Husabergs two stroke race bikes, I didnt think it could make it any better but man was i wrong,, it pulls so much harder now in the low and mid with a little more over rev, this set-up along with the z-start is just flat awesome, if anybody is interested i can put the part numbers on here,,it wont be a disappointment..

I cant find build specs and needle position but here is the parts..
part#
54531636007...Jet Needle NOZ G heihin.....$23.00
54831035065...throttle Valve 6.5 keihin...$206.00
320-35000 keinin 21 pilot jet and
320-43000 hex jet....the numbers for the pilot jet and hex jet dont work to well on ktmhutt but im sure considering its just a pilot jet there shouldnt be any problem..the throttle valve was the big part of this puzzle, its a part from a mid 90s ktm..keep in mind that this is the set-up for my pipe and silencer combo ( gnarly and turbin core2 SA ) from FMF that is used in Husaberg Factory race bikes( such as Laffertys ), If it is or not who knows but it is flat awesome, the bike had major bottom and mid stock but is a real animal now..

I ride that bike hard and often.  Those pics were taken the week I bought the bike = Oct 2010

This is what it looks like now.
(170 hours later and having some maintenance in the garage)

It's a pity you cannot give your jetting specs, I was interested to know what the race guys use.  They usually run quite a rich set up compared to the average rider - hence the  NOZG needle and the 6.5 slide (from any SX250 by the way)

Now that looks like a bike that has been ridden!  Makes sense!

I also have a 2012 TE300 and the only issue I have had with it was the kickstand broke. The part that broke was the bushing/shaft piece of the frame that the bolt of the kickstand screws into and there is no fix for it. Very poor design. I believe the problem was that too short of a bolt was used, 3/4", and should have been a 1 1/4" bolt, which then would have screwed into the stronger part of the frame attachment.

I would definitely check the length of the bolt. As I mentioned, there is no fix other than buying an aftermarket kickstand.
