it is a low frequency randomly timed rattle. Its not a consistent timed noise like a rod bearing would make. And both nuts are tight. Any other ideas?

good to know its supposed to float, I replaced a rashed stator cover on my 2000 drz400e and noticed this while putting locktite on the rotor bolt. I really like this bike for trail riding, the durability is great. Took it to taylor park colorado this summer, just wish it had some more pop at 10000-12000 feet.

Found out it was a rod bearing, destroyed the whole motor but $1400 later and I now have a brand new all weiseco motor. Oh ya!!!!!
