look at buying a wr450f

Well as i said in the title im looking to buy a wr450f and i would like for you to look at the link comes with penty pics and see if you can find anything wrong with it.

also are there any so called problems i know that the wr's have a pretty good rep and all but still are there any problems known with the 2007 wr450f and also are they fuel injected?

plz reply its going to be a couple of months before i can get it but yeah thats for reading and plz comment!!!!?:)?

I don't know what 6800 aussie bucks translates into CanDollars, but i wouldn't pay 6800 for that when i can have a brand new 2011 for 9400. It's pretty clean by the looks of it but they are asking too much. and no its not fuel injected...

yeah well 6,800 in aus is around the mark id pay for a good 2nd hand bike and i through it looked pretty clean and good through one problem i see is im going from a crf230f to a wr450f i have ridden a wr250f 05 and its pretty good through id proable end up upgrading to the 450 anyways.

dunno might try to haggle to 6400ish but hey still not getting it till the end of the year christmas time for me in aus and 680 in CA money is 7142 thousand ouch

Here that price is of a new bike! The first thing i look for wear wise is I look for factory stickers. If the factory stickers are there then it hasnt been drug through the woods, has original plastics, and hasnt been draged down hills. It looks like who ever owned it only done a couple of bling things and didnt set anything up for hard riding. The only worry is the battery not working. Battterys for these are expensive. If someone wore out the starter by holding the button and cooked the springs or brushes then that is expensive to fix. I highly doubt that happened, but that would be my only worry with this bike.

yeah my dad said that when we go to look at it to take a batteir up with us through would a wr250f battier be okay to use?

if so how much would a new starter cost cause i would be doing trails and love that magic buttion but if it doesnt work then i might look at replacing it through what does it mean by factory spares is that just the stock part being replaced and hung onto or something lese?

also the brand new price in aus for a brand new 450 is around here 12,000 mark so i reckon this pretty good

i picked up my 2011 wr450f off the showroom floor today in kcmo for 7000 us dollars so ill have to agree with teamtree that 3500 to 4000 for a 07 is max price

As everyone mentioned it depends on location, but in my area winter is around the corner and that price would be pretty high.

yeah depending on the location cause bikes are pretty expensive in NSW brand new te250 is 10,500 mark through they go down at the start of the year when the moddle change over starts and dropes down to like 8,000.

IF that is a good price for your location, It won't be sitting for 4 months until xmas. The odometer can be reset, so that may not be the true distance run. Looks mostly road ridden to me. The steering damper is a plus, but that means he was running it at high speed, so the gearing probably will be high for off-road use. I would ask for a new rear tire at that price.

Mate I just bought a 2008 WR with 1100km on it great condition paid $6450 im in QLD, when i was looking there where alot of other bikes for 6-7thou with low kms in good condition. I would be tempted to find one that has very low km.

Thats just my opinion, same thing when i buy cars/boats etc.

Personally I wouldn't buy a wr250f , I'd go straight to a 450, you'd be wanting more if u got the 250, my opinion anyway,

And Australia has high prices, I payed 12000 for my 2010 without rego,

But the bIke ur looking at looks good

I'm with homer on that one, unless you haven't ridden a 450 yet. if you haven't then who knows... you might be happy with teh 250f. How tall / heavy are you? If you're much more than 180 lbs then you might opt for the 450 as the 250 wouldn't really feel snappy with a 200 lbs guy sitting on it. Speaking from experience here. rode a buddy's Kawi 250 4t and it had wiseco hi performance crank, cams, piston and rings, full FMF q4 and jetting. He's an A/C mechanic by trade so he knows his way around with a wrench. he claimed his 250 rode like a 450. I rode it. it doesn't. He came back on my 400 after 20 minutes on the trail white faced and grinning with a fresh new set of scratches on the front plastic and left shroud.

I liked how light his bike felt, but missed teh power. he hated how heavy my bike was, and said the power was awesome, but a little much for wet, rocky, muddy riding.

also depends on your riding style and your experience.

170cm and 58kg 16 years or 66.9 inch and 128lbs

however i have also found a 07 exc250f and thats my other option and 2 wr250fs at my local shop so really i pretty good pick at the moment

i will mainly be ridding tralies and id say that im in the middle not a pro but not new so i can do most hard trails through i ride a crf230f at the moment and i have been borrowing my bros 250f when hes at uni so yeah

^^ I'm 172cm and 79kg and I opted for the WR450, 3 of my mates have the WR250F and none of them excite me enough, I had a KLX250 and it was geared slightly more towards road riding and wasnt powerful even by 250 standards..

A mate of mine has an 06 KX250F with a no-expense-spared rebuild, all high performance top of the line parts that he swears by. He also reckons it will beat my WR on all counts. While he would have me in some very tight technical tracks, he'd have nothing outside of that. I can hardly power wheelie on the thing even though the gears are so short on it!

At that height, I found the 450 a little tall for me, but I did lower it for a while until my skill improved and have returned it to the stock height now.

For a registered bike in NSW, that price is quite fair, in QLD I'd expect to pay less for the equivalent bike but here in NSW that's about right for that condition.

Also, a battery for the WR should knock you back about $30, at least that's what my mate paid for one for his WR at the local battery shop.

yeah i actual screwed the measurement up for the high sry im actualy about 68 tall not really bothed to put it into cm's but i am also looking at an exc250f 07 tidy condition.

Hahaha.. I'm 31, right around 5'6" and just under 120lbs.. riding on a HC WR450 supermoto... sure, the bike has thrown me clear a few times, and it scares the crudd outta me almost every ride, but that's what makes the bike worth it for me. I like that feeling of excitement/danger ?

Plus, I don't feel the need of upgrading the bike to boost the HP any more, and the suspension valving is almost perfect for my weight.. actually it's a little over sprung, but meh.. it's all good it'll keep me going while I gain weight hopefully in the future, at least I don't bottom the suspension... EVER.
