I overheard someone saying the 300 2-strokes are blowing up. Is there anyone else having issues?

I also heard that Husqvarna is going to make a direct injected 1000cc 2 stroke dirt bike next year with 3 powerbands.

With only 3 powerbands?

Actually there may be a bit of truth to this as several have found reed black leaking. Usually it just makes the bike run erratic until you find it but it can end bad. If your chasing your jetting stop and check for leaks. I personally would form-a-gasket those reed blocks.
That said this is like hand guards are dangerous to brake your wrists. Heard of it, never seen it. WR250, and 300 are one of the most rock solid engines ever IMHO.

I just over-heard it at a local race and thought I'd post the question. I think if there was a wide spread problem you'd hear more about it.

I think people may be confusing the 300's rocket-like power with "blowing up". It does feel sorta like being shot out of a cannon.

I had one, it blew up! It only had 4hrs on the meter! KTM did finally warranty the bike after the dealer dicked me around for 4 months!

Another excellent reason to stay out of shops/race pits. Have always felt they were invented to train incompetent employees and spread bad info.

A local guy seized his up because he had an air leak at the reed cage but that is the only one I have ever heard of.

Not a husky, but my gasgas 300 has way over 200 hours on the original piston. Still has great compression and everything looks top notch. Going to do a rebuild this winter just for the hell of it. Never really heard of any brand 300 blowing up. They don't get revved real high and seem to last forever
