That sits a bit lower that crf250 right?

I figured if I start asking for a mammoth of a bike he'd agree with a 250 to shut me up lol... like this http://www.dirtrodders.com/atk700/

I'm 5'4" tall, 29.5" inseam, and ride a kdx200.

It weighs about 220-230 lbs. Full-size bike with 21/18 wheels.
Has a fatty pipe and 49-tooth sproket on it, otherwise the rest is stock.
Haven't officially lowered it yet (gonna buy a Kouba link), but for now just backed off the rear spring to allow the seat to drop to 34.5" (stock is 36.5").

I ride trails, mostly single track, and this bike works great for me for this type of riding.

My 11 year old daughter can ride it and does ride it, and she holds it up on her own when she starts and stops. She even kick started herself. She is 4'11" tall and barely 80 lbs.

None of my full sized machines have been lowered, the two biggest ones being a Kawasaki KX250 and a Husqvarna TE450. I am 5 ft 5 in. tall and find both bikes a bit awkward at times, but I never want to sacrifice ground clearance on any of my bikes due to the amount of rocky terrain around here. I put a standard height soft foam Gutsracing seat on both of them to help me get my feet on the ground a little easier. I have a couple of 86 KDX 200s that are built almost perfect for a person my size. They have plenty of ground clearance, enough suspension travel and a low enough seat height for me to get my feet to the ground. The manufacturers should build a trail bike with those exact dimensions on a current model.

I have a brand new 2009 Yamaha WR250f. I was tippy at the Womens Ride this past weekend so I am having the seat lowered as we speak and expect the bike will be a good size for me. I am 5'6" and with the seat shaved down on the 2005 WR I had it was perfect. :ride: Buying a new bike is fun...good luck...make sure to get an e-start!!!

I am 5'6"

My BF got me a CRF150RB to learn on ...
-------> it has Renthal twin wall stock bend bars, custom fabricated top triple clamps with extended rise bar clamps (all that rises it about 3in), and of coarse he modified the jetting for easy of starting and engine performance. I absolutely love it!!

I also just got a CR125 ...
-----> well, we just bought it and it was used so he has it absolutely, completely in pieces in our garage for a total rebuild. I couldn't touch the ground on it (when it was actually together! lol) but he is just going to shave a seat for me.

Yes for SURE if a get a monster bike (which to me is a 200+) i will get an e-start, but id like the kickstart on there too. So i've harrassed the Hubs enough about the ATK 2 stroke 700 and i think he's coming around to the idea of a 250 instead lol

You might want to check out the WR250f....the estart, easy kick, perfect for the trails and so very pretty.

When the CR is put back together, give me an update on how yo ulike the switch from 4stroke to 2stroke, the cr125 is definately in the running with me. i'd like to be able to ride both the cr125 and crf150r and compare, i want lots of power!

I guess i am lucky cuz i am 5'9".....rode a ktm 200 for 6 years but bought a 250 xcwe in 09 and love it. That is my bike for all the really tight single track. Otherwise i ride a beta 525 on trails that lead to dualsporting!

Oh, I should say that I am not flat footed on my bike. I can touch both sides with my toes with my boots on, but usually just sit off-center to kick it over, then get situatated when I take off.

It also has the forks raised about an inch and it has aftermarket Tusk handlebars but no bar risers or anything. Just thought I should point out those changes too.

I started out on an xr100, and going to a full-sized bike was the best thing I could have done. The seat to footpeg distance is a much better fit, and riding over stuff is way easier than with the little xr100. Power is much better too!! I rode an '89 KTM300 for a while prior to purchasing the kdx200, and overall they were similar but I feel the kdx fits me better. It has a slightly smaller wheelbase than the ktm300 had lending it to be a bit more nimble, and weighs about 15-20 lbs. lighter, which does seem to make a bit of difference, especially when picking it up if I tip over. We went and looked at a ktm200, but the seat to foot peg distance was actually different (shorter distance) and I didn't really like how that felt as much as the ktm300 and my kdx. So sitting on different bikes does really help, if you have that option!

Best wishes on your new bike search!!
