Quickie, I have a 2000 wr400 that has a crack in the tank, so I was change to a yz tank/seat. I found a seat from a 01 yz250f and tank from a 1999 yz400f. Will this directly bolt up? What about the shrouds?

Should be a direct swap. The WR petcock will work fine and allow you to keep the reserve function. I put a Clarke YZ 3.2 gal tank and a YZ seat on my 426 and it made a big improvement in the riding position. FYI Clarke lists the 3.2 gal YZ tank for both the '01-'02 YZ 250F and the '98-'02 YZ 400F/426F. Its a great swap as long as you don't need the extra capacity of the WR tank.

I put a new Clarke '99 yz stock size tank and a '02 yz 426 seat (ebay special) on my '99 wr400 with stock shrouds no problem. Best mod i ever did for it! You get about 4 more inches of useful seat!
