I ride a 2004 WR450F, and I was wondering what a high engine temperature is for this machine or one like it, right now I'm doing about 195-203 degrees (F). Any info would be helpful... Thanks

That's a great temp. I'm so slow that I tend to run 230ish on trails. I shut it down to cool at 250ish.

A 50-50 mix of standard coolant/distilled water boils at ~260 deg F. You are well within the comfort zone of the motor.

Anything below 240 is normal for a bike.

Thanks for all the replies, that's the reason I wanted to know, my vapor says 200 is high so I thought maybe I was in trouble, then I realized that you can set the temperature range so 240 and 250 it is.

Its the coolant I was worried about, the motor doesn't get that hot but the coolant seems to rise pretty fast, also my header pipe gets hot to, not normal hot but really hot to where I can feel it in my leg. But the bike is running so good that I don't want to mess with anything unless I know what the problem is, any thoughts?

All normal.

Modern 4S race bikes like yours can run 900 degrees at the header and glow if left idling more than a minute. Even on my SM, I feel the heat mid leg from the Ti pipe due to the thin wall construction.
