the years MUST be compatable. The 99's rad shrouds are different than the 2K bikes.

I think you mean that the 400 and 426 shrouds are different. The 2000 model bike was a 400 also. I don't know though, if the 98-2000 400's share the same shrouds, tanks, and seats. :)

The 1999 WR400 shroud IS NOT the same as the 2000 WR400.

The radiator mounts were changed.

As stated, the 2000 YZF426 IS the same as the 2000 WRF400.

To "feel" this mod, sit on a YZF426.

The ergo's are mucho better.

Do you know why the 2003 WRF450 petrol tank was downsized from the 2002 WR426...because the tank/seat setup SUCKED!!

If you do not need the fuel range, this mod (YZF tank & seat) is phenominal.

You can also go w/ an aftermarket, oversize tank (ACERBIS, IMS, TY DAVIS, CLARKE) which MUST use the YZF seat.
This too is a GREAT improvement over stock.

You can scrunch forward much more on the tank. This will drastically improve your cornering prowness. Raising the forks slightly will make it even better.

Thanks for that Kevin,

Being in Oz and also enjoying chasing some feral pigs when I get the chance I would like to have a little more fuel range. When some spare cash arises I amy look into a bigger tank and YZ seat. :)
