Are 2 strokes coming back?

I always here 2t's are dead, and no their not. Blah blah blah.
I want a REAL answer from you experts, yes I know 2 strokes never really "died" but company's stopped producing them.
Are new technology being put into them? Why aren't we seeing fuel injected 2 strokes in bikes? They are more powerful and just as efficient as a 4 stroke.
The reason I'm asking, is because I am a large fan of 2 stroke engines.
So my question is, are 2 stroke engines coming back into production with newer technology?

They never went anywhere, as long as it isn't red or green you can buy as many as you want. Consumer demand dropped on them.
At there current pace I would never buy one again. The thumpers kick to much ass.
Hence why we are on a forum called THUMPER talk, not two stroke talk

I do agree on the just ride thing. I have nothing against 4 strokes, but I prefer 2 strokes.
Sorry:/

This isn't true, to be as complex as a 4 stroke they'd need to be a 4 stroke. FI / DI does not make them as complex as a 4 stroke, only more complex than a regular 2 stroke.
I'd be really surprised if Yamaha updates the frames on the 2 stroke lineup. It would be nice, but they really need motor updates more than anything (the KTM, older CRs and RMs pumped out more HP than the Yamaha's). Time will tell though.

Not true at all. The KX65 is still being made to this day.

Lol thats true man,i have a 2001 honda cr250r strock,my freind has 2011 yamaha yz250 and we drag race all the time and my cr out accelarates his every time, hes always comes up with any excuse sayin mine is ported, but infact mines stock,he wants to back up his claims and wants to examine my cylinder ports next top end rebuild which is ok with me.He hates the fact my bikes 10ys older and it would b slower. So ur right older engines have more mongrel,my bike is completely stock and thats no bull!
